Fort McMurray, Alberta has tons of demand for skilled drivers. Badger is looking for water/vac drivers and that's naming one. The list goes on. Great local unions and job boards. Cheers.

Taxes will send south in a hurry

Look into cost of housing in the area you want to head to. Ft Mac is crazy expensive. Lots of work in sask with lower expenses and often milder winter conditions as well. No chaining around here either, if you can't make it without chains you call for a tractor and sit back collecting OT surfing the web or watching a movie till it gets there.

The big question is - why would you wanna go to work in the US for oilfield? Do you like making poor wages? Canadian oilfields pay ALOT better then the same job in the US.... Some of the wages I have seen posted driving a water truck or crude oil is the same as a guy here pouring coffee at Tim Hortons hahaha

I thought they prefer Canadian citizens over Americans for employment. -
If you like paying 43-50% in taxes than what are have you accomplished. Other than I make more per hour that I don't get to keep. But maybe you like paying for others. It's like my dear old dad use say its not what you make it's what you keep
cisco Thanks this. -
If your still looking I could get you in. Average pay $100grand to start. 22on 13 off, 80%med, etc
-
In Canada its easy to set up an incorporated company so like I have done, I take 60 grand a year in dividends to live nicely on and pay approx 26% tax on that, and the other hundreds of thousands a year go into my incorporated business account where I pay 13% corporate tax.

While that saying is true, taxes up here are nowhere near 43-50%, try half that. I run a frac pump and while I haven't been doing it for quite a year yet I'll probably make close to 100k, and it really hasn't been that busy of a year.
