a piece of advice, you may say you're prepared to tarp but tarping in my opinion is the easiest part of the job. most flatbeds are spread axle and you CANNOT turn as tight with a spread axle as you can a tandem. if you do you could A. pop the tires on the front axle off the bead or B. tear that front axle off it's mounts (I've seen it happen). once you get your first year flatbedding in then it should get easier. you're going to run into problems like how to secure certain pieces of cargo (I've had some things that are just a kick in the ### for getting it legal and secure). it's going to be one hell of a challenge, but it'll be fun. I love it. I feel flatbedders and tanker drivers are some of the safest drivers out there. we control how that cargo is secured unlike in a van or refer. we are trained on how cargo could react to different forces and we are much more aware than your standard steering wheel holder. that's just my opinion.

No doubt about it. At least with the quads, there are no spread axles, it's a tri axle with a tag. I'm sure it'll different nonetheless. Only reason I went box to start off was because it was the best available opportunity that fit my needs at the time. Now it isn't which is why I'm giving COTC a go. I already drive like a tank yanker because that's what my dad did and I rode around with him a lot growing up.
I appreciate the advice, you can never get too much as I'm always learning something new everyday. I'm used to getting ready for football pre-season right about now and I miss throwing #### around as well as the mental aspect of which way do I have to move this man? Sitting on my rear all the time is not for me.
Although I will say, crates of brake pads are fun to brace and strap in a van. -

Well we dont go to canada and ur in a good area I went to phoenix from new orleans and it paid me a bit over $1000. Thats was for one load I think I grossed $1700 that week....

All I know is that for the Quad fleet at COTC, they averaged $52k for the year home every weekend. And by weekend, they mean home Friday leave Monday morning. I'll gladly give it a shot for that reason alone. Have to live in the Pacific NW for that though. I'll let you know more once I head to orientation if you want.
They are governed at 62 if that's an issue for you. -
