I am scheduled to start school at Mid-American driving academy in Louisa Kentucky on Feb 18th. I want to go flatbed so I am interested in flatbed companies that take beginners. I got approved through Maverick and Builders Transportation. What other flatbed companies take beginners and what are your experiences with them good or bad?

McElroy Trucklines, C. Bean Transport, WH Transportation, Melton Trucklines, Arrow Trucking, Swift Transportation, Prime INC, Valley Express, And Watkins Shepard. With Watkins Shepard I am not sure if you can start right out with flatbed. I did not find any information that said you could or could not; you may want to ask a WS employee about that one.

I worked for Melton. They are not a bad company to work for. Don't do there lease option. They will run you but you have to push your DM. Also, try to avoid getting texas loads. If you do get a load to Laredo yard. Make sure you get there in the middle of the week. Otherwise you will sit there a few days. And if you drop anywhere else in Texas. Your almost certain to deadhead out of the state. Florida is another bad state for coming out with a loaded flatbed. Hope this info helps
