Can a tnt trainer on here tell me how the student is paid? I know as a l/o that I would have to pay the student so Im tryin to decide if its worth pursuing or not. I make good money now so I dont need to do this but the extra bucks would be great.
Coming up on my 90 days and thinking about being a TNT trainer.

I would think a simple phone call to the company would answer your question very easily.
-
You want to train with only 90 days experience?
Rontonio Thanks this. -
No. If you look you will see Ive been at this longer than 90days. Ive been at Prime almost 90days. I aint called the trainibg department because I dont want them bugging me until I decide lol.
Wanderingaimlessly Thanks this. -
ChuckTaylor might know better than me. But the way it was explained to me, the 600.00 per week is taken out of your settlement weekly. You will be running basically as a team, so that is where you make up the difference.
Hope this helps you. -
Silent eagle will know better.
.12/mile or $600 whichever is greater, plus lease drivers pay the trainees workman's comp taxes.
.12/$600 for b seats. C seats same deal, except its .10/mile or $500 for the first couple weeks then they become b seats.
Unlike company drivers, lease ops make up the difference if you don't run the miles need for the $600 garauntee to the trainee.
Trainee always gets their money, even if it puts the lease op negative or no net revenue that week.
again, Im company, I can tell you all the ins and details for company trainers... This lease op trainer thing is if I recall correctly. SE is the goto guy on this for certainty. -
Lease Ops do not have to make up the difference if the guarantee is not made. They are only charged for the miles the truck ran (as long as the truck was out the entire week, if you take hometime, and the trainee doesn't you are responsible for the guarantee). The charge includes mileage pay, and anything Prime would have had to pay, including the employer share of FICA taxes and workman's comp.
I would have to go find an old settlement of mine from Prime and check, but if I recall, the charge ended up being around 15-16cpm for the trainee.Danfromwindsor Thanks this. -
Speakin' of which... when are you going to get off your duff and come back to a REAL job, eh?
-
And to think... all this time I've been told that a home every night job is the greatest thing in the trucking industry.... People lied to me!!!!! -
Plus you get to pay the company the 200 dollars for the TNT class.
