I have to say that you just made a great statement because it is so true. There is not a perfect company. There is going to always be something wrong with any one of them. I have limited my factors to .26-.30 cents peer mile, 2,000-3,000 mile average with no complaints about that because that is actually great ranges for an entry level position. Find that out there in the job market in entry level anywhere else plus the benefits if you want them. The other factors I'm focusing on are equipment, training, and professionalism. I think I have the best three companies on my list with Millis, Central, and Stevens. Waiting to hear from Maverick and Knight to get more info on them. I think you have to have your CDL's and or student for them 2 though. Will know for sure tomorrow. But $520-$780+ a week average is no complaint for me seeing that it is bottom entry level pay. Plus you get to travel and see the country. Come on man! I'm from a small Louisiana town where people average that or less even busting their butt in the heat or cold doing hard labor. You have to hope for over time to get to those numbers busting your butt. My aunt is working 7 days a week in the heat and cold for a production plant. She is past time to retire and only makes $18.00. That is only $720 a week without the overtime and she is looking at over 25 years there. She hopes for overtime to to break the $800 a week mark and should have been retired. Think about that as you research and make your decision on a company. All trucking companies are going to have their +&- factors regardless, but I feel truckers should feel blessed to make what they make at entry level position.

26 CPM or more and at least 2000 miles a week. That's every company I've looked into. Who pays less than 26CPM? CRE? You're not gonna get any guarantee on miles, and what they advertise doesn't always mean very much. Just make sure you don't piss off your DM, that means more than anything else for getting miles.

Both Central and Stevens is around $100 for registration and around $70 for license. They take the rest out of your check after your trained in a bundle that averages less than $50 a week. Only $170.00 out of pocket up front plus food. If you can't eat the dollar menu for 3 weeks then I don't know what to say. I just talked to Roehl today and it is the same around $170+$400 lodge and whatever you spend on meals. I would rather pay $170 up front and the rest back in bunches other than $570+ up front any day. This is coming from recruiters I talk to now and their packages. I got the Roehl package through PO Box mail. I guess they charge for the brochure to lol.

I sneak around, have an CDL, A MBA, and and , and, a passion to see just what you will do. Part of me says You will give up & go home. Other part says, He or She will be just fine. Ann Wilson of Heart asked me for a light, @ a rest area. She and Nancy were driving the bus. Trucking. Way it is. My Wife was with me. :)

I too have been trying to decide between Swift and Stevens. One downside I see to Stevens is that even after your 1 year employment. You still owe 2 more years on school loan. But they will continue to finance you for the remaining 2 years. If you leave before the one year you owe the whole amount immediately. With Swift you are completly done after 13 months. Im also considering Prime

No, they all average .26+ starting out at entry level and actually they all advertise more than 2,000 miles. Try 2,500 to 3,000+ advertised. They all lie. You are right about pissing DM off our anyone else being a entry level starter. That's common sense. Been researching this game for a long time and know all about the starter companies. My top pick in Millis is most likely feeding me some BS of some type. They all still look good to me. I would rather drive and see the country making minimum wage than work my @@@ off any day. I did actually see a company that started out with some type of split millage pay at .22 per mile. That has been a while and I can't recall. They did also have a type of schedule that is like oil rig jobs. 7 on 7 off, 14 on 14 off. No, it wasn't CRE lol. Man they are catching besides Swift.

Ask Prime if you can go to their tanker school. If you want to do local tanker work later, you will already have the experience.

One big difference between Swift & Stevens is Stevens has APU's, but then again, more hometime with Swift.
