service truck air compressor questions

I recently bought a "pickup mount" 14hp Kohler powered 30 gallon tank air compressor so I can do more of my own work. Makes me wish I had paid more attention and asked questions when the roadside service trucks showed up. Is 1/2" air line sufficient for a 1" impact? Can anyone recommend a good 1" impact been looking at those too. Lot of choices out there, prices all over the place. I see them with max torque ratings from 1400 ft lbs to 2300. Want to make sure I don't get something here that my compressor won't support. I've seen some service truck operators have to wait for air to build while others just impact away. Durable is important to me, I can shop for best price. Lighter weight is good. Thanks

 

They're up to $129 now, still dirt cheap, but that's why I asked it ought to do just fine. Same situation here this will be just a few times a year for my one truck/trailer. Looking at all those $600-$800 impacts, maybe if I was changing tires every day, but really overkill for my needs. Actually the compressor itself was a tad overkill.. my "shop" is the driveway for the for-seeable future, but I knew it'd be useful - save money - for many years to come so I got it.

 

You have more patience than me. Going to check around local pawn shops before I pull the trigger on HF just yet.

 

I'll be driving my own truck for at least another 25 years. Just another tool it'll get put to good use in different ways.
