You have nothing to worry about. Vicodin rarely shows up on a drug screen. If it does they will ask to see your prescription. They are not going to think you are a drugie. It really isn't a problem as far as the drug screen is concerned. Just don't take them while you are driving.

Before anyone asks. The reason I know this is because I herniated two disks in my back last year and was on Vicodin for a period of time. When I went to renew my DOT card I asked the same questions as the original poster. I took two Vicodin the night before my drug test and passed.

they should be out of your system 3-5 days after stopping them--all you need to do is tell whoever does your drug test what prescriptions you have been on and what for. Normally--3 to 5 days they are out of your system.

Yes, actually, I think it'll be OK anyway. I just did some research and from several websites - they all pretty much say the same thing - that it stays in your system for 72 hours.

Like I said - I have enough, if taken properly, to last until Wednesday Feb 6... and I am not even going out to start my class until Monday Feb 18...

Sorry to butt in here when I really haven't BTDT...but I would ASSUME (eek) that you can safely answer "NO" because you did not *fail*. You were not fired nor reprimanded, right? Having your ducks in a row ahead of time assured that. I could easily be wrong I guess. ;)

As long as you had scripts for these meds and showed them this, you don't have anything to worry about.

Found on one site that the "DOT Compliant Five Panel Drug Screen" tests for the following:

    Amphetamines
    Cannabinoids
    Cocaine
    Opiates
    Phencyclidine

Anyone know if this test is the one used by all truck companies and all DOT tests? Am I to understand that as long as one tests negative for these meds and alcohol, all is OK?

Do any of them test for other drugs besides the groups listed? Reason I ask is SOMETIMES in stressful situations a xanax does wonders for me, with no ill effects. Would a prescription make it OK even if I were to be tested for that and had taken one recently. Thanks.......

If you are taking medicine's prescribed to you--all you need to do is tell them. As long as you tell them what your taking--you should be ok.
