I just left JB Hunt yesterday to go work for a different company KLLM I offered to finish out the week and the account I was being "trained" for was the Houston Bud account on the last day of my "training" I told them that I was going to work for a different company I then recieved a phone call from my old dispatcher from the over the road section telling me that since i was quiting that they was transfering me back too over the road well at that time i had it in my mind that if i was going back otr that it would be my last day on that day so me and my "trainer" stopped at a lil mom & pop truck stop and he went in and came back out saying that I could no longer drive because I was a otr driver and not authrorized as a bud driver but i was a authrorized passenger so he drove us back too houston and when we got back too the yard i got my log books and got in my lil 4 wheeler and drove home not saying a word too anyone the next day i did not call them nor did they call me while i was being "trained" they said i would be making $100 per day when i got my paycheck the $400 that should have been on there wasnt i will call payroll in the morn to find out what is going on and while i was otr i only ran at the very most 2300 miles and that was during xmas so anyone looking too goto work for JB Hunt beware

If you are refferring to my letter I am sorry you thought it atagonistic. I just wished they had tried to answer some of my questions regarding full hrs utilization as a priority over the load's schedule and mentioned that dispatch also recognizes 392.3. I wish they tried to explain how the safety dept.s work together with dispatch. I wish they would have been understanding about my request to start on a weekday. And I wish they whoever it was would have given me their last name when I requested it. I thought that for the company to do those small things would have been fair. But was surprised that the company would not reply with some sort of response. Hopefully the company will consider my points as helpful suggestions instead of antagonistic. There were good points to working there. There were no problems fueling, The ez pass and scale pass worked, they paid on time and miles were fairly consistent. I like the interactive tutorial computer classes because they made me a better smith system driver. I still will make it a priority to "Drive Right" by leaveing a good following distance and not tailgateing. I just wish there was a good feeling of knowing that relied upon people in the offices would strive to help me as a driver to better know how to mange my job with them. Like what if I shut down after 9? Is that not acceptable? And why would someone or anyone at the company not disclose there last name? And why wouldn't an important person even try to respond to a letter that asks questions regarding the company's policies and/or priorities concerning load scheduleing vs. (HOS) utilization? I feel that trying to answer and disclose a last name would be more toward an "open door" policy. Why loose me as a Driver just because I am someone who feels I have a right to know and consider it a fair request to start on a weekday? Perhaps it could be said that it was a condition of employment to operate the truck without knowing why it was acceptable for inner office personnell to not answer or disclose. If they said here is how we see it or here is what we expect and we have no problem with discloseing our last name or starting you on a weekday if there is good reason, then I would be "in the know" regarding issues that I feel are relevant to my job description, and I would feel that I have been treated fairly by the supervisor who obviously did not try to conceal there last name if any further issues would develop that would require refering back to the supervisor. Wouldn't those requirements that I have as a driver for their company be something that is "Doable" on there part? Why do I feel like they think that is out of line or asking too much? Perhaps there are other companies out there that would not consider those things to be Too Much or Not Doable. Hopefully...

I have a bigger question. Why would someone named TruckerL (as in Lowell) make his first post in a JB Hunt thread? That makes question your motives and reasons for being here. Hopefully you read my warning to management personnel if in fact you are one. We're not going to have any funny business here. -

If you do run such an amazing outfit then please explain one small thing to me.
I get calls 3-5 times a week from JB. ALWAYS claiming to be "independent" recruiters, looking for drivers for companies such as "Home Depot, Wal-Mart and others"......
Why cant you guys simply say you are with JB Hunt? Furthermore why do you keep calling me when (according to what one of your recruiters said) you are not allowed to speak to me at all since I am under contract with a competitor? Is your computer system so difficult to navigate that the delete button cant be located?
Basically most drivers just want honesty from their employers. You cant begin a recruiting phone call with a lie and expect us to believe we would be treated any other way but with dishonesty, deciept, contempt and whatever mood swings strike some keyboard puncher as amusing at the moment. -
After my house burned down last year, I moved to an apartment in another city not far from where I had lived. My area code changed (3 area codes in Phoenix) and had to get a different number. NO MORE RECRUITER PHONE CALLS!!!! JB HUNT is the WORST in making repeated phone calls, week after week, year after year. But I don't get ANY calls from ANY recruiters!! YEEEEE-HAWWWWWW!

#2. We were never in control of the Remove numbers from call list line. the Call list is like a telemarketer list where it's stored in a computer and when we worked that file that day, it auto-dials that number and pops up a screen with Phone number, State, Town, name. The only way it can be done is if Driver states he/she wants name off of call list and we transferred them down to the number removal desk (nice lady works there) and go through that step (takes all of 30 SECONDS). IF YOU DO NOT COMPLY, THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL BE CALLED AGAIN. I repeat, IF YOU DO NOT COMPLY, THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL BE CALLED AGAIN. It's how the system is setup, don't shoot me.
and #3. I never lied to a driver the whole #### time I was there. All I ever did was just place calls...My objective was not to stick people into jobs they'll stay at for 2 weeks and then leave, my job was to talk to whatever driver i was on the line with at that time and Ask questions to possibly get around to the job that they're looking for, or to write down Name, Number, City, and Job (Like say, driver Bob at 555-555-5555 is looking for a Local in the Chicago area which isn't open now, but I'll give him a call when I see one spring up)
I've even talked to drivers about random stuff for 15 minutes and then they took some time to listen to what I had to say, even though they KNEW full well that I was calling from the HQ in Lowell. in my line of work, i had found that humanizing with a person gets better results than just going straight to a sales pitch and then working them over...I got a lot better Orientation show percentage than a lot of other recruiters, just on the fact i would take time to discuss whatever with them, even just shooting the breeze. And I always stayed on top of what the position status was for what drivers I had going in...Especially when a Local opens up in places like Chicago, Detroit, NYC, etc where they fly fast and might decide on closing the position on drivers they already have as opposed to picking my guys/gals or what have you. -
