You don't read the news? Not sure how to search for information...or what? There are numerous reports on a variety of news sources about how the ACA is affecting rates.
Whether the rates for drivers go up, down or stay the same may or may not have anything to do with the ACA at all. My rate dropped substantially, from near $300/month to $168. Is this due to the ACA? Who knows. There is no way to tell.
Here's a little ditty from Forbes I just happen to have open in another window. http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickung...e-insurance-exchange-announces-premium-rates/

That only applies to the Medicaid expansion clause.

So far the only rate decreases I have heard about were in New York. I just read a summary of Obama Care coverage, and if you make over $21,000 per year, don't count on much help from ObamaCare.
My private health plan rate for single coverage just went up from $600 a month to $670 a month, and I have a $2,500 deductible, with a max copay of $7,500 a year, and Rx coverage for generics only. There is a higher deductible plan with a $10,000 deductible that I may switch to if my rate goes up much higher. I take one brand name drug that costs me $200 a month.
I just got a letter from BCBS telling me my rate will go up next year, due to Obamacare increasing my benefit level in my plan......not what I really needed to hear, but so it goes. I don't know if the $10,000 deductible plan will be option under Obamacare....will have to wait and see. -
Review the costs for health care and see how many doctors have taken pay cuts and hospitals dropping room rates and drug companies giving medicine away.
Everyone knows or should know there is going to be increases to cover the costs.
After you think about that, look at your plan, Did you realize the cap is gone?
Did you realize that there are no longer pre existing health restrictions?
I believe we will be seeing more "health care" testing for things like cancer screening as part of the health care plans.
In 2006, I saw rising health care costs and started a HSA plan.
