I'm driving a hand-me-down Volvo fleet truck and I'd like to find some used parts, mostly interior stuff for the cab and sleeper. The kind of stuff that might enhance my living quarters in the truck but that the company won't pay for. Used parts and salvage is kind of an old-school business and doesn't google very well so I took a drive down Moreland Avenue yesterday to see what I could find. After a little asking around somebody finally pointed me to Kerns in Ellenwood, and that's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. Only problem is they have some of what I need but not all of it, so I'll be checking back in there whenever I'm home but since I have all this week off, does anybody know of any similar salvage yards near Atlanta? I'm headed back to Kerns today to grab what I can, but if there are other places I could check out while I'm home I'd love to look them up. I appreciate any help you guys can give me on this.

henley... im not sure if its a salvage yard or what it is... but if you leave the terminal and go to the pilot at 326, go the light right there.. at carbondale and dixie hwy and take a left and go about 4.5 miles i always see wrecked trucks at Dalton Truck in their yard... you cant miss it.. they have a lot of wrecked us exprs trucks in their... but like i said i dont know if its a jink yard or if they are going to rebuild those trucks..
dave should no.. ask him next time your their..
also.. what is that your looking for that the company wont pay for?
im sure if you buy ANYTHING for the truck they will pay you back....

LKQ has a yard in Charlotte, I don't know the exit, but you can see the sign off I-85 Just south of I-77. Last time I was there they had a fair selection, and they also sell used trucks. The Volvo dealership in Charlotte used to run a yard with all makes. Don't know if the still do. It's not at the dealership location, although they strip most of the drive train parts at the dealership location before sending the remainder of the corpse to the bone yard. Gary used to manage the salvage and used parts division.

    G535600 Thanks this.
