I was wondering which type of otr driving would pay the most for a new driver. Either Dry Van, Reefer, Van Lines, Car Hauler, Flat Bed, Or tanker?

Hard to say. Florida? New driver? Probably tank IMO with flatbed or reefer not too far behind but FL is going to be your biggest obstacle to good (better) money.
Lone Ranger 13 and Kodi P Thank this. -
I vote for tanker, from my personal experience.
Comcar in Florida has tanker division and hires new CDL grads.
Schneider tanker division also hires new CDL grads.Kodi P Thanks this. -
Very few companys hire grads for tanker so if you get a chqnce take it for the exp from what I hear tanker is a good place to be specially hazmat thats been my goal from the day I started my training is for tankers and I could find any to take me as a grad and tried after a yr and still told 2yrs exp

SVTN & CTL both hire new grads; they just don't advertise it. One new grad posted on here a few days ago he got pre-hires from both companies. Schneider also hires new CDL grads for tanker division.

Thanks everybody for the responses. Looks like i need to get my tanker and hazmat endorsements to make better money.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Tanker would be a good skill to have.
I have friends who have tanked and made good money.
I hear food grade tank doesn't pay so good, but chemical tanking does pay well. -
I'd try and get in on a food-grade bulk hauler as my first option, chemical second. A little less work, safer, no HM, and if we have a severe economic downturn, chemicals will be hit before liquid food bulks will be. I just can't see a major economic boom in the future that would make chemical take off but I've been wrong before.

That's true. do you know of any companies hiring for that now?

New drive I'd think some pay better then others yet not enough
