FWIW cool, I tried the meniscus repair prior to the knee replacement. Didn't do a darn thing except lighten my wallet, (and of course my insurance companies account,) and make another payment or two on the doctor's Porsche or whatever he drives.
Got an evaluation from a different doc, who recommended the replacement. Got the replacement done by a third doc, (the one I should have gone to first, I guess,) and while it wasn't a picnic getting over it, now that I'm past it, I feel 25 years younger.
(Now if only I didn't have a slew of other physical problems. . .)

I know the feeling, if they send us to the Newburgh terminal, chances are our next run is to Bethpage. Before the nanny break, it was doable to be on the GW outbound by 5:30-6:00, now, not so much.

Well I guess it might be something I will have to eventually do. My mom has had both knees operated on for meniscus tears. She worked in hr her whole life. Maybe it is all the sitting? My last surgeon told me to adopt the Atkins lifestyle but man is it hard to do, especially driving a truck. He blamed all these problems I have like knees and back on a poor diet. Told me not to eat any processed food and drink water only. I must say I do feel better when I eat that way but only after feeling like death for the first 2 weeks. I really think sugar is addictive. I should try to stick with it for longer than 4 weeks at a time lol. I have no will power. Doc said if I stick with it I would stop the inflammation in my body and maybe even reverse some of my aches and pains. Said it would definitely stop future problems. I should really stick with it. It's only food.

Is $19.12 and after 8 hours OT Low pay for LTL work?
Let's say come in do some Outbound dock work for your trailers and help others, Then do P/D. Then come in do Inbound dock for a bit.
Apologize sounds confusing. Fresh in LTL ( 2 days )
Can't say what ABC company yet. Location is PA.
Not complaining,This is my first experience with a UNION / LTL job. Curious if this typical pay for PA.
I've always run LOCAL TT work, If that helps. never LTL -
Atkins really is a fast way to lose weight. I dumped over 80 pounds in just a little over a year on it. But when I "fell off the wagon," due to craving carbs and an obvious mental defect, I put that 80 pounds back on, and a whole lot more. . .
So I'm still sitting at 297, but it is coming off a bit. I've taken off 22 pounds in the past six months, just by portion control.
Now, to Atkins and your knees, obviously any weight you lose will make it easier on your knees. I really don't know about the rest of your doctor's claims.
I apologize to everyone for the hijack here. -
Not at all confusing. Most of us who have worked LTL can identify with what you are saying. Though I am a bit surprised that you are doing the dock work if you are union. I have never worked a union shop as a trucker, but I would think the pay would be about average for other union jobs like it in your area.
Since I live in a Utah, trying to compare wages would be like comparing apples and oranges.Shaggy Thanks this. -
does sound a bit low for LTL in PA... but since your in a union shop are you a dock worker driver combo? I do know some union LTL companies do pay different pay for dock and driver during your time before you get into the union. If you want PM what company you work for and I will give you my best knowledge
-
Just by saying into Bethpage I already know what company you work for... I am from Long Island originally and was looking to move back a year ago. Although Im in Newburgh now. GW bridge BOTH ways have lane closures now. Cross Bronx has finally been ripped up in some bad places as well.

sounds like new penn

Sounds about right to me. That's about the starting pay for us out here in southern Cali. For the union carriers anyway.
