Been really looking at tablets last few to start doing log book on. Seems like Eclipse has alot more info and you only have to enter it once. Bigroad just looks like its half a log but was told its free.

    any takes on both

Eclipse is reasonable priced, but you get what you pay for with Big Road. Big Road may get better over time then they will start to charge a fee.

    I like my Eclipse.

i like how bigroad works. although i don't actually use it. i did play with it. it's installed on my phone. it'll pull your location for you if you have gps. so if you want a tablet. one with gps will serve more functionality for you. you can also download copilot for $3.50 and set it for truck route. cheaper then buying the actual truck version which was $150 when i bought it 2 years ago.

i bought my tablet from radioshack. it don't have gps. but it was cheap. 7 inch screen and $80. i thought i would use it. but so far it's just been sitting there. LOL.

For an OO, I think Drivers daily log (DDL) would be a better choice. It runs on windows. Don't know if it would run on a windows tablet or not.
I use it on a laptop. The full version is $95.00. A one time fee with life time updates.

    This.
I have been using DDL for two years. They are very good about keeping the software updated for regulations changes.

    Nope.
You only have to repay if you have it loaded on more than three devices at once. If your laptop crashes and you have to reinstall, you send an email to them explaining the details and they will send you an activation code free of charge. I've done it a couple times when I've had hardware issues and have never had a problem and have never been charged.

Okay, well, I'm just telling you my personal experience with it and the experience of the half-dozen others I know that use it daily that I'm in contact with on a very regular basis. In fact, of those, I have done the very thing I've outlined to you on the computers of three of those people several times each, because they treat their computers like they're indestructable and I'm having to either rebuild the machines or reinstall the software on new machines.

Email Fritz and ask him. Their software is great, but their website is clunky and hard to understand.

    EDIT:
Okay, rereading their site, it seems that you can activate on three devices without having to buy a new license, so, if you go through a computer every year, which is very extreme, IMO, then, yes, you will have to pay for a new license for the fourth, fifth and sixth computers. I don't think $33 (approx.) per year for three years is a lot to ask for what the software offers. There's also a "Lite" version for $50 if you don't need all the reporting services.

Really all of them are the same just some are easier than others. I'm using bigroad on my phone now but I really don't like the layout but do like the fact it's a app so I could use the tablet and if I need a back up I can use my phone, all I have to do is log into my account and my info is there...
