yes i have a cdl and i actually have own a local flatbed trucking company which consit of three freightliner centry class trucks however i am thinkin on expanding in the industry since i have my own athority :biggrin_25520: Yet 2 days ago on another thread you supposedly had a prehire from TMC , before that you were going to Superior carriers in May you were in the NAVY .

Thats why I asked "do you have a cdl , any actual trucking experience "

W900 are heavy not a good mix for tanker, 13 and 18speeds are really the same unless your hauling over 80,000lb gross your never going to split your low side so I'd go 13 speed. Cats pull great but love fuel and hard finding people to work on them, I've never seen a cummins last long most need inframed well before others not my first choise, Detroits run forever and get good fuel economy but love leaking oil...also anything in a Pete other than a cat is cheaper some trucks as much as $10,000. 2001-2-3 is your best beat but even the bridge C15s can be tuned like a 6NZ which is my number one choice!!!!

you are absolutely correct where you say i had the prehire letter from tmc, i also have a pre hire letter from superior carriers, decker, schnyder. i am currently in the U S Navy right now i retire next month an was interested in using my education benefits so that was why i psted about the companys, how ever this is a forum so i figured it would be no harm to ask question but i guess in this forum you need creditials so... yes i do own a trucking company as i said before we run flatbed from outr of bmt, tx. i have been runing this buz for the last three years and do to that fact that i am retiring from naval service this will alow me to focuse more on the company and try to do some expanding. cause i have had three knee surgeries so i was interested im using my own athourity purchasing a tank and giving that a try however i have no tank experiance only flatbed.

thanks for info we haul flatbed we are pretty much in a tri state area texas louisiana, miss, but for the last 4 months we landed a contract with the pipe line around beaumont texas. great paying gig but alot of idle time dont get me wrong the three freightshakers do a great job as trucks for other drivers but im a pete man so thats why i started the tread my dad has a w900 pulling a tank and swears by the truck with his life so i was just poking around seeing what other drivers think

Which knee have you had surgery on. I ask becuase if it is the left one you may have a very painful problem over the years. Based on you asking for advise on classic trucks you probably wouldn't want to go for an automated transimission but if its your left knee and it gives you problems it might be something to look at.

Do you plan on standing next to it all day in the truck stop or in the driver's seat going down the highway. If the latter than the cheapest to operate and feed with fuel. What is your budget and you will get some more advice.
