ya man i feel you. i always fuel. i almost always wash out the trailer too. sometimes i dont but at least its not horribly dirty

 

Does Central pay for trailer wash outs?

 

They do. And you don't have to wait til you get to a designated fuel stop to fuel the reefer. You can fuel the reefer anywhere, anytime that its needed. The fuel routing is only for the truck and then only for company drivers. L/O's can fuel anywhere since they are paying for their fuel

 

Butte, MT is where I made a bed on the floor. The guy who's hopped on the bus with no ticket (his parole officer was supposed to pay for one) was claiming there were people outside trying to sell us drugs (there were no people outside at 3 am) and he was so desperate for a cigarette that he rolled pocket lint up in a dollar bill and tried to smoke it. The crazy dude was better, but that guy was entertaining too.

Stay off the drugs kids.

 

I've been having a problem with trls that were dropped with light fuel as well. What's really great is going into a dry location (65° loads) and finding all the available mt's have 1/2 a tank. You know that trl wasn't sitting there loaded for 4 days, so it had to come in light on fuel. No biggie, right? Just fuel on the way to the 01, right? Not when the 01 is 12 miles away and the nearest fuel is 48 miles. That's 70 unpaid miles to clean up someone else's laziness.

 

We actually had someone outside the atl station try to sell us drugs. "You want buds or oxy's?" The guy he was asking didn't know what was going on until a cheetos bag full of pills was thrust up to his nose. The best part is this all happened 30 feet from 2 police officers.

Good times.

 

Have things changed? When I was in orientation it was made clear that you never drop a trailer that was under half full. You had to get permission from your DM to do so.

And if it makes you feel better, Arkansas Frost, we won't have this problem much longer. The technology is there that will allow the reefer to report location, temperature, and fuel level to the terminal every hour. That will eliminate the "it wasn't me" mystery.

Passion4Polishing, if it's the parking lot I'm thinking of, there used to be signs posted stating, "If any Central equipment is parked here you will be immediately terminated!"

I'm talking about the greyhound station, not the terminal. The fact that the terminal has fences and razor wire is enough reason for me to never leave the premises on foot..

also, trl's should not be dropped with less than 3/4 fuel. I'm not sure if that's central policy, but all cx information says something like "cannot drop with less than 3/4 tank of fuel"

 

nothing changed but after a while I think it's pretty easy to tell where they check and where they don't. The dirty trailer thing is all the time depending on which drop yard you're in.

 

We get that in my drop yard all the time. I know what's in my yard, so I know that 65 load came in yesterday, and it didn't magically burn enough fuel to get to 1/2 tank in an overnight. And usually, we don't have the time to take them and get them fueled before we deliver, because it's 17 miles each direction, in Portland traffic. It's frustrating, because you HAVE to pass a truck stop on the way into Portland. Unless you're coming from the coast, and in that case, you had to leave via Portland anyway.
