Well PM me, I may be able to get you in at a company I know about, They are in Riverside Ca. they run Dry Box and may be looking for new Grads. Take Care Keep Studying!. Remember all you learn in school is only to get the card with a number on it that says you have learned the very basics of Driving a truck! You will learn the real stuff when you get out on the road!.

dog gone.the very first truck that i drove had no power steering to go out but then i was just put in one and asked to deliver to salibury,nc.,ducking as i went under each overpass.yeah i did have a difficult time backing it to the dock.

best of luck to you in the transportation industry! no need to get discouraged as murphy's law is applicable regardless of the industry in which you work and in trucking, when it rains,it pours.

actually you didn't sound(rather read) too discouraged.i have no idea why i typed that-

i totally disagree w/applying to the large carriers.you will do better and enjoy driving more by getting on w/smaller outfits.and yes,you can even w/little to no experience.get into a more specialized form like pulling an end dump.

i do agree about not paying a dime for a physical ALTHOUGH already having one upon applying to an outfit may just get you in the door.i had no idea that one had to pay for an orientation but then i have never driven for a mega carrier.i have always assumed that once hired, the orientation is provided. silly me-

Seems like May has the fewest horror stories posted about them. And their $90/day minimum regardless of miles (after you solo out) sounds like a good way to get your feet wet in the beginning. I'm leaning towards May's dry side sticking to the western 11. At least until I have some real life experience. For now all I know about is the school world and the DMV world. Neither of which are the trucking world.
