A truck isn't faster than a tornado and don't hide underneath a bridge like other people do.... I know that much but I'm guessing find a low lying area off the side of the road and bunker down lol...what do u other drivers out there do when ur faced with a tornado?
-
I live in a coastal town of Virginia, not a lot of tornado's, but I always heard that low lying areas such as a ditch could save your life. I cant say that I have any experience in this area. Hopefully you wont either.

Are saying get out of trk and lay down in ditch?
-
If your truck is loaded 80,000lbs won't it be safer to stop and get into sleeper and cover-up?
-
A tornado will toss that truck down the road....even if its loaded...u always here about big buildings getting destroyed and mobile homes getting tossed around : /
-
Tornados are a really freaky sight...it gives me chills seeing them..its like looking at death lol....living in oklahoma I've seen my share of them
-
OK, So whats a driver to do ? Does anyones Co have a policey on "Twisters"
-
I haven't seen any policies on tornados... But I'm not a driver yet but just follow common sense....
-
While it might seem a good idea to get underneath an overpass, that can be the wrong thing to do. Those areas tend to act as a tunnel and actually suck stronger wind into them.
If you can see it and it is close and heading your way, get out of your truck and hit the ditch, lay face down on your belly and cover your head with your arms. Your best chance to survive.....
