Does anyone know the proper sequence for engaging the brakes on both tractor and trailer, so, you can check for air leaks as well as check brake lights during your pre-trip?

I remember something like releasing the brakes and holding the brake pedal for four seconds, or something like that, would engage the brakes and brake lights.

release the brakes and push brake pedal for 3 or 4 seconds and watch the air pressure gauge it should drop a little when brakes are pressed but then build back up. If it doesn't build up you might have a small leak. As for the light coming on you can keep pressure on brakes and if you have a leak it will keep dropping and when it gets to 60 pounds of pressure the buzzer should come on and the valves on dash should pop out.

    Thanks popcorn.
I found out that the procedure is to release the trilwr brakes and just step on and tehn release rhe brake pedal.
This will engage the brakes and brake lights while you do your walk around.
