They all do Sleep Apnea crap now. If you have over a 17" neck and a BMI higher than 33%, most carriers now require a sleep study. This is to cover their ### if you fall asleep driving.

I'd be real careful about that issue. Their company website says it must be over 10years. You should talk to someone besides a recruiter. I doubt they would do it but I'd try to get it in writing before you invest any time or money.

Well, I applied to Roehl for good measure, I think as of right now, I'm just gonna lay back and see what if any response I get from them...

Swift will hire newbies with dui as long as it is 5 years old. I know this because my husband had a DUI that is 6 years old. Also on the thread that is about a swift truck driver on here has sleep apnea and he uses cpap machine. His username on posts is docwatson

Well, this is a MAJOR career change for me, but I do have a long term plan for it, should it work out....I've been researching since last December (longer really, but in earnest since last December)...reading up on this and other forums, as well as speaking to current client truck drivers that I have and to my family (my wife's family are truck drivers and load brokers)...

From what I've read so far, these five companies (I applied to Roehl yesterday) can allow me weekend time with the family in Chicago, while providing the flatbed training and experience I want...and I should be able to earn enough to cover my expenses at home while doing it. My only aprehension is leaving my 3 year old during the week, but...hey I'll just have to suck it up...

I've also read good things about Falcon and McElroy....

    123456 Thanks this.

Well, Melton is out, they offer a 2 week out, 3 day at home program, too long out for me...looking for 1 week out, home on the weekends. Someone else in the forums pointed this out and today their recruiter confirmed it. Oh well, next...

FYI: Gordon no longer has a sleep apnea program and Interstate never said a word. As a matter of fact, IDC accepted my 2 year card without a new physical.
