The thing is. They picked me up in my home town so I asked if they were going to bring me back and they said no. What else can I do? They also said I'd be getting 3,000 miles a week.

listen to pattyj! You go back now and get truck!!!
Tell them you made hasty decision out of anger and your sorry... you will return truck and hope its not too late.browndawg, worldtrvlr and pattyj Thank this. -
Love that comment!! ha ha ha ha

uhhh, yes, it is a big deal. You probably have abandonment to deal with now.
-
If that driver is still here-better make a quick aplogy for your actions to the company and tell them you were wrong for whatever (even if you were not), and as these others mentioned-get the truck and do whatever, deliver the load, get it loaded, or wait or whatever, but don't leave it!!!!
-
Who said you would be getting 3000 miles a week? Was it a recruiter?Remember this, what they say and do are two different things.Never believe what they say.Ive been in the trucking game long enough to know when I have my eyes set on one specific company its going to be because of my findings not what a company or their glamourous ads say.You really better think hard before just leaving the equipment wherever.I think by law companies are suppose to provide you transportation back home but that doesn't mean they're going to do so.Take the equipment back to their terminal and get on the next Grayhound home.

Companies only have to get you to your state line under federal law...not any further. Also, with 22 years experience you should know as stated above.....never belive what they tell you. Lastly, going with the big carriers today, from what I see, you are not going to run 3000 a week continually. A small company yes, but not the likes of Pohl.
-
What federal law??? Please post it. OP if you abandon that truck, consider your career in trucking over. No one will hire you.FLATBED Thanks this.

Yeah, I'd like to see that, too! I can see Greyhound coming to a screeching halt at the state line, and the driver grabbing someone by the shirt, and throwing them off.....
FLATBED Thanks this.
