Just buy a TK APU and get the 3k watt inverter that comes with it.
-
I have never seen anywhere offering inverter repair. When they die, outside of a blown fuse, they are dead. And if it is smoking, get it out of your truck, like, yesterday. Inverters have been known to be the cause of a number of burned out trucks.

Yes I agree "if its smoking its broken" IMO Xantrex is the best inverters on the market but kinda pricey, but worth the extra quality/peace of mind.
-
A cb shop with a real tec should be able to fix it for a reasonable price.
-
A tech may be able to fix it, but the repair is likely to cost more than a new inverter. Especially once the magic smoke escapes.

I've never seen one burn up and I'm not the one that even did it so I'm not sure what happen but it will not turn on and if something is plugged in it starts smoking...
I'd like to stay around that 2,500 mark besides my coffee pot the biggest thing I run is a vacuum cleaner.
