Spent the weekend at the Salt Lake terminal to get my front brakes repaired. They have been SCREAMING every time I come to a stop. This is the 3rd time I've been in for this. The shop said they won't replace them because they are still within specs. I hope that when I come screaming into a scale house, they are of the same opinion.

Tell them what you have said here, give the AM first crack at fixing it, ASAP, then if that does not work ASK to speak to the OPS manager, and nicely let the AM know what the path will be, and as far as dropping off the truck, as you drop it off at there yard, there's not a hole lot they can do about it, just make sure that it is cleaned out , and cleaned up good, and you should not have any problems. You may also want to try the HR dept.
And take pictures of the unit, and e-mail them.
Also make sure you try to leave on a good note, the best u can, it just wasn't going to work out that's all. Just time to move on.
Also make sure you are not under a load if that happens.Last edited: Aug 5, 2013

They would likely charge you with abandoning the truck because that is just a trailer drop yard. I would ask about turning it into Cheyenne at least or better yet just finish out your time with a two week notice. No sense on asking for something negative to be on your report if you are going to continue driving a truck for a living when all you have to do is bite the bullet for a little time longer.
Seems like they have screwed you over getting home on time and that sucks but concentrate on doing the right thing on your end. Better luck in your next position.Ralph4159 Thanks this. -
I agree with OneShot and Majestyk. Try your very best to get it fixed. If that doesn't work do your best to work through it long enough to get to one of the terminals. If you turn the truck in at one of the terminals you are ok. They will do a check off sheet with you. Make sure you get that check off done and keep a copy of it. They will charge you a clean out fee on the truck even if you clean it up nice. Just get all of your stuff out and make sure all trash and stuff is out. No need to extra clean. Good Luck with whatever you decide to do.

Your AM has a boss. Contact that person and see if there was something wrong with the procedure you followed to get your time off. Vacation time is unlike home time. Vacation plans are made well in advance and timing is critical. Your AM should have been on the ball more. I bet if she was told her planned vacation will be postponed by a week she would be up in arms as well.Last edited: Aug 5, 2013

What is up with Crete? It's like they don't care and I'm seriously considering returning to work there. Does anybody have a positive experience with Crete? I guess they really feel that Class A driver's are a dime a dozen. I just got my leave of absence extended for another 30 days and after reading all of your comments it sounds like nothing has changed at Crete. Maybe I should stay with the temp agency and hope for the best, anyway I have until the end of the month to decide. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
