Is swift a good company?

My family and I moved to Florida in 2008 to "retire" but retirement is not it's all cracked up to be. I'm too young to take up woodworking full time, although BBQing became a passion, so I am looking to return to driving and Swift is one of the companies I have been looking at. I didn't retire as a driver but the 5 years I drove were very enjoyable.

 

ohhh ok I just got hired on with swift they are a pretty good company from what I heard but any big company you have your good dayz and bad dayz.....and plus its good to have a terminal close to home I started out with werner a few yrs back when I was like 22 or 23 but left b-4 a month due to family an also the trainer I had smh.......

 

As a heads up Swift does not do sleep apnea stuff so its all your call if you want to do it.

 

I worked in the maintenance division out of the Ocala terminal years ago. The shop was decent back then with a dedicated trailer repair shop added to the tractor repair shop.
Not too sure how great the driver lounge was, but it was a decent sized terminal.

 

I went to the swift school in millington. I did my one year with swift and got out of there. They are not best in class not even close. My one year at swift I made about 35, 000. Then I left and went to another company and made 60, 000 my 2nd year driving. I guess it's a good place to start but not for anybody with experience.

 

It all depends on what you are looking for. Some people have different priorities that Swift works well for. There are lots of drivers that stay and have plenty of years behind the wheel. Some drivers leave for what they thought was a better opportunity and come back to Swift.

 

No offense to anybody who stays at swift but if thats the case you don't truly know whats out there and you have set the bar for yourself pretty low.
