I have a used jost I'll sell you for 250, needs a rebuilt

I would buy a used one but only if it is in good shape. not fair or needing rebuilt. and same for top plate. I will never buy a top plated needing a rebuild they don't last long for some reason. what is wrong with you slider that you are looking for another. depending on which one you have I know a few tricks. the biggest one is on the triganle lock plates is to heat the top of the round rail and beat it back down. that's the number one reason for slide play is that lip bending up and the plate jumping.

For $500 plus a rebuild kit you can almost buy a new Holland 3500. I wouldn't waste my time or money like that.

Mine is a stationary 5th wheel, I want to make a sliding. Now I'm thinking instead of getting the whole thing to just get riser and the slide rail. What do you guys say good idea or bad the one i have right now is a holland model # FW317822XL80

OK, I see the reason now. Does your fixed set up allow for various fixed positions? If so I'd just place it where it was 12K on the steering and 34K on the drives with full tanks.
But yes buying a used slide does make sense. Make sure you have the adequate number of bolts holding it to the frame. Apparently there is some regulation as to the number. -
buying the set up to get the used slider is the way to go. I priced a new slider and it was well over a grand. Around here used 5th wheel assemblies with the slider are $500 or less
