Yes, but the load had another stop now. If I loaded it, I'd be doing the extra stop for free. I can't make the shipper only load part of the load.
TONU and loads not cancelled.

This forum needs a sticky thread for listing the names and MC numbers of these scumbags. Yeah you can call the bondholder....good luck because there is no TONU agreement. If you booked the load through DAT/Transcore/TruckersEdge you can call them and plead your case but basically you are screwed.
Only thing you could have done IMO is do it for their rate and hope that something goes wrong after you load. Then you can renegotiate the rate agreement based on that. Best thing you can do is post their info so we all know them. -
I had a Customer i was trying to work with, He gave us a load, but said 'If i find someone cheaper, i pull load from you" I told him to go to Hell and lose my number. He ships Grocery from the NE to MIdwest and South
-
You were right to tell him to get lost but at least he was honest.
-
That is bad info. If he had shown up & the other truck loaded it, then he is out the miles getting there. That & the load changed. More weight?
The bad part is the brokerage is going to feel perfectly fine blowing off the tonu fee as he was not at the dock ready to load. So in their mind, they did not cost the truck one penny. -
It's kind of like arguing for detention pay. You may be right, but you won't get it....
Just remember it and who this character is.....
And should he ever call you back..... -
Well, I won't list who this is, because they are a fairly major broker. And no, they aren't CHR or TQL. What's funny, their office just called on a load from Allentown, PA to Ashtabula, OH paying $475. HAHAHA. It's a shame with cell phones you can't slam them anymore. You can only hit the button on your headset angrily.
As for TONU.... that's one way to see it. I like to think they owe me $3900 because they backed out of a contract with me. If I ever went after their bond, it wouldn't be for TONU, it'd be for the whole agreed amount. -
Not if you have one of these.
Of course you can only slam it down on a hard surface since the matching cradle doesn't come with it. Fortunately, I have the real deal dial phones at home and can slam those down any time the urge strikes.barnmonkey Thanks this. -
I booked a load with a broker called Trex, out of MI on Friday to pick up lets say out of NY and deliver in MD. So Friday I pick up another load going to NY and Monday morning I deliver it in NY. That Monday morning the broker calls and said that was canceled, and does not pay TONU. Guess what, I'm already in NY getting unloaded and now I have nothing going back to MD.
Every professional business in the country pays for a canceling out. Motels, Hotels, Airplains, Vacations, Trains, Rental Cars,Doctors, you name it, and ordering a tractor trailer should be no different in last minuet changes.
Bottom line with dealing with brokers is go pick up the load before talking to them again on the phone! Don't answer that phone, let them leave a voice mail. -
If you have the Internet Truck Stop, you can click on the tab for I think "Report a Broker" and then read the list.
If the truck moved towards the pick-up location and you have a signed confirmation, send it off to the Internet Truck Stop and they will forward the complaint to the broker which they might pay it, or reply back with a responce to the complaint.Last edited: Aug 8, 2013
