As was said, the best thing to do is to ensure that the truck has plenty of fuel before setting it up for a night long idle. Running out of fuel means hat there may be some work ahead of you. First thing, you are going to need a source of fuel, and the minimum is going to be about 15 gallons or so to put enough into the tank to cover the fuel intakes in the tank, possibly more if the truck is not parked on good level ground. Depending on the type of fuel filter, you may need to change it as part of the restart procedure, and you are going to have to have some fuel for manually priming the fuel filter if needed.
After that, it can depend on the type of truck and engine you are dealing with. You may have a hand operated pump located somewhere on the engine that you can prime the truck with, and you need to know it's location and how to operate it. On some engimes, you may have to crack and bleed injetor lines to get the engine back up and running.
Basically, anytime you transition from one truck to another, you need to have a mechanic show you the featues of the particular engine and what you have to do to restart one. If you have knowledge and experience, you can even restart one with ether, but it takes some mechanical knowledge so that you don;t harm the engine in the process.
Best thing, keep the tanks topped off and pay attention to the mileage you get and the miles you ran since the last fuel stop.
