Well I'm getting pretty tired of this popping up on this piece of junk. 2012 D-13 with 87,000 on it. After 61,000 miles replaced EGR Cooler cuz they said it was plugged. 25,000 miles later, codes again. Into the shop Friday, couldn't find anything so they upate the software and say I'm good to go. Codes again today 1500 miles down the road, so try to get into a shop tomorrow. These things really are an exercise in frustration.

I had a truck at our dealership last week with same code, that code is actually alittle tricky to diagnose, take it into the shop and have then monitor the delta p sensor or also called the EGR differential pressure sensor, as well as pulling the delta p off the venturi tube and inspect ports for soot build up. there is an updated pipe and sensor as well if that hasnt been done in the past. make sure it goes thru a complete regen as well.

Pablo-UA Thanks this. -
Ok, so update, got it into a little shop in Kylertown Pa. I wasn't expecting much but a fella there surprised the heck outa me. I gave him the history on this thing, EGR Cooler, Pressure switch replacement etc.. He starts running his checklist and notices a small oil leak coming from the EGR valve drain hose. Pulls it off and sees a crack in one of the valves or something akin to that. Replaces EGR valve, runs regen and presto, codes clear themselves and everthing is back to normal. which tells me that this was probably my problem all along including why I needed an EGR Cooler at 61000 miles in Salt Lake city. Had they went a little further to find out why it was clogged at such a low mileage in the first place, I probably wouldn't have had to log as many hours in the shop as I did. So if anyone else is having a similar issue, hope this helps.

Update, back in the shop again. Same code. Same piece of junk.

Ok so this time they replaced wiring harness, was full of oil. EGR Cooler again, updated Venturi tube and of course EGR Valve. Got rid of the code, I guess cuz EVERYTHING is NEW! Geez. On the upside, got great fuel mileage sittin' in the shop tore apart.

You might just have to replace a new EGR cooler.
