Maybe he feels like a cat in a roomful of rocking chairs, and sitting there in his cab is the only place that some ####### won't rock over his tail. He's safe right there.

Look at it this way. He's seen all his collection of DVD's twenty times, doesn't like to read books, hate's talking to truckers and hearing their whiney stories, and wondering how in heck he's going to make all his payments come payday... his dog hates him, his wife left him, his dispatcher done him bad, and... ah, you get the idea...

I understand that government has regulated the industry to the point of despair for many of you long time drivers. However, you did not understand my post completely. When I am talking about renting a car, seeing the sites, etc, I am talking about on days off, you know, the three or four you should get off every five or six weeks. No company can tell me what to do or not on those. I am not talking about when sitting idle in the ts. All I do now is sit in a recliner with nothing to do at home alone bored to tears watching tv or computer, with little hope of getting out of this s##hole town I live in, much less finding a decent job. I might as well be doing it in a truck making money to save for retirement somewhere a heck of a lot better.
