We are just yankin' your chain a little. Stay calm, no one mentioned getting a rope or bullets yet. You're doing good. :biggrin_25523:

My approach to recruitment is building relationships and networking, not just posting jobs and praying that someone good applies. This is why I didn't just post a random position in this form. Another reason for not quickly posting a postion is that I want to make sure this is the right site for driver positions I'm working on.

Sorry for getting defensive earlier, jumping into a brand new forum can be tricky.

CR I have been a student, company driver. lease operator, driver trainer, dispatcher, fleet manager, I teach new driver orientation and help out in the recruiting/training/retention department. What would you like to know?

Thanks PSUMoose for offering to help. During the next couple of weeks I'll be meeting our logistics managers for each region to learn about their needs and what they look for in their drivers. My goal is to reduce the amount of time it takes to find our drivers by finding reliable sources to recruit from. This will be a challenge since we only hire experienced drivers (at least 3 years) with a class A CDL issued by the state in which the candidate resides, to include Class X endorsements.

sdaniel - that's one of the things I'm trying to figure out. What is the "proper package?" In terms of benefits, we offer healthcare, vacation, 401k (fully vested day 1) + Pension (fully vested at 3 years), etc. I'm sure you're speaking about salary though.

Yes sir, and that will change from one location to location. And finding the number for each place. What is great for my area could be a insult in the NYC area.

From what I understand, geographic areas are not going to be "metro" locations (i.e., NYC), where cost of living is high comparative to the rest of the country.
