Volvo ! I own a Volvo 780/2008 /Volvo D13/ 13 Eaton. ; i would buy same truck again or maybe the 730 for flatbed; comfortable for teams or solo /reliable and maybe the best motor on the market today in fuel economy; I have 1,153,000 miles original motor not burning oil, still pulling great; Honestly, I"m still getting around 8mpg with loads over 40,000lbs and 9-10 mpg on light loads below 20k. The transmission Eaton 13 speeds manual is well built also; I changed the oil 3 times in 6years, the only expense.

T800 with an ISX hands down! Owned a 780 Volvo for 8 years now. T800 is the truck I'm ordering next year.

 

You should turn your truck into Volvo labs so they can study it and figure out what they did right with that truck if everything is true like you said. But honestly I don't think it is.

I've been on 3 670 all 08 so far. Two with v13: total garbage. I don't know where you pull but I know for sure they don't on 80 in Oregon or 77 in VA.
The one with Cummins was good horse but 8 mpg.. Bobtail?

The best I got was 7.2mpg. That is with "fixed" aftertreatment systems.

 

Agree. The best I squeeze from 670 with ISX400 is... 7.1mpg with 15000 load 60mph.

 

tserberis is right! With all my mods (in the list) and almost 1mil. original miles, I get 7.3 US mpg loaded up to 80k gross and around 7.8 empty. Some of my friends with new D13s and I-Shifts get from 6.8 to 7.2mpg maximum with similar weigh.

 

Yes, i'm running flat roads Ontario to Texas : i'm talking about Volvo D13 not V13 and btw ,I-80 doesn't go through Oregon.

 

Yeah, you right I-84. I've been on 80 for 4 days straight now so everything is 80 to me. LoL

By V13 I ment Volvo 13 liter engine, which is indeed D13.

I don't know how you manage that mileage.
