Do a googlw search for small to medium size carriers within 100 or 200 miles of where u live ....most times they have sweet direct contracts might find a deal that works better for u..,,,,,,plus i like sitting down with the owner of a company and not getting lost in shuffle

Whether you go Schneider choice or LS, there will be a learning curve if you're coming from a dispatched situation. The difference with Schneider, as far as i know, is that all of the loads are on the board. At LS it's a crap shoot if the good stuff hits the board. If the agent has a known entity available, they'll get a call or email first. This can be your advantage if your a great, on time driver, that can communicate with a phone or email, once your established.

If you can find a smaller regional carrier with direct freight around your house, that is usually a more ideal situation if the pay good. They also might not run elogs like Landstar (new hires)and Schneider. They don't exist in my area (FL) at least that I've found.
