Isnt it illegal to transport alcohol, fuel, gas, propane, etc. across state lines except for whats kept inside the semi's and/or reefer's fuel tanks per DOT rules? I know schneider's rules clearly indicated so and only allowed amounts no greater than what fits in a cigarrette lighter. They dont even carry alcohol based cold weather fuel additive. However, am pretty sure my bottles of 21 year old Glenfiddich Scotch are exempt from that rule.

If it is it must not be enforced. I see trucks all the time with fuel and gas cans strapped to the catwalk.

When I was with Arnold, the first safety director was a retired FHP cop. They wouldn't even allow us to have normal mouthwash. Kitty Ducacus(wife of candidate Michael Ducacus)got caught in rehab drinking the mouthwash, soooo....it was then considered an alcohol. Crete isn't that picky...I was in Ottawa one time where they were selling a bunch of regular Scope from an OSD claim. Nobody was buying it, so they donated it to a local shelter for battered and abused women. When I asked about the legality of us having that in our truck, I was assured that our safety VP said it was ok for us to have it. I still don't use regular just in case.

I snagged a sweet run fresh off of home time. 1854 miles to Mehoopany, PA

Oh and the leaf blower works gr8!! -
I have the same run. I am staged at the Loves on 225. I hope there is actually two of these loads. I have never got a load over 1600 here before.

I used to keep a propane torch in my truck too for frozen locks and tandems

Back on the laptop today, so here's a quick update.
July ended up being about 9700 miles, so I'm behind the pace needed for earning a raise. A very bad month early in the year with a breakdown didn't help matters. August I'll be out the entire month, but I'm taking a week off in September for a family function. However, the recent past has been very productive.
Came out of the house mid-week last week (SC) with a load headed to Tulsa (1067 miles). Followed that with a run from Muskogee to Portland, ME with three extra stops (1846 mi). Loaded back out of Skowhegan to KC (1704 mi). Taking a 34 in KC now. Got with my new (possibly temporary) AM about my unpaid leave in September, and got the "no problem" response.
Coming back out Sunday morning, I'll see what I get. But the truck continues to perform well (B service due next week), and I've no cause to call anyone in Lincoln until yesterday when I spoke to my AM for the first time in the month I've been on her board. -
Good morning everyone, I am currently a student at Allstate and a Crete recruiter came in the other day, I am really thinking about applying for this company, how is the starting pay for a newb right out of school?

Maine...holy crap. I've been here almost 10 years, and I've only been there twice.
K/C has been a bad place for freight for us lately. I've had to deadhead as far as Springfield to get moving. I've talked to others that have had similar experiences. Not sure why, K/C is usually a decent area. I've also talked to a lot of drivers who get the joy of doing the Wally D/C out of Ottawa.Last edited: Aug 10, 2013

I got empty, had long since updated my PTA to Sunday, and still got not only a QC message but a phone call asking if I was ready to roll, so perhaps things they-are-a-turnin'.
