California trucks needing moved

I have a booklet they mailed us with pics of all the trucks and what they appraised for, Im still waiting for a more detailed report, I want to know exactly what motors and all before I go. Of course we have family in Bakersfield so its not like its a wasted trip or anything if things dont go well. I know they wont bring a lot, But Ive been looking at similar trucks on craigslist all day that are priced at 10 to 20 thousand dollars, and some of those had close to or in excess of a million miles. Not one of these trucks im talking about has even close to a million miles, most are under 500 thousand, and some are under 300 thousand. They will let me have mine for 2 grand, They would like to get at least 4 grand for the rest of them because at the auction they will only bring around 2 grand each. I think If I keep the price down low they would move fast around here. You cant hardly buy a good used car for under 7 grand let alone a good solid semi truck. The engines are worth that much! not to mention the trannys , turbos/ seats / tires/ and all the parts on a good truck. I can always use a couple detroits, and cummins/ and cats/ lol, Somebody will need them. I dont think you could possibly loose money, I dont see how you could as long as you stay legal, I dont have to pay them until they sale anyway. Any one can do this! There are 10's of thousands of these trucks/ farm tractors/ pump trucks/ water pumps for irrigation. I know a guy who buys the sundowner horse trailer's and pulls one with him to Bakersfield everytime he goes. He buys it drags it and doubles his money on it. Here is a thought, pull a trailer down there with a rental and sale the trailer and drop off rental , Pickup a semi and drive it back and sale it, Once you clear enough profit you could go there and get a truck and trailer and load up a farm tractor or 2 of them and come back and sale all of it lol, Im gonna start soon, and start small and see how things go. Ill be in touch, Ill post some pics and keep you all updated. If nothing else Im getting me a few farm trucks and taking some road trips!

 

Ill sure keep that in mind. This first batch I dont have to worry much because weve known them for years. My wife is their accountant for almost 30 years. She is the one who told them when they were in financial position to buy each truck and when. So she knows when they bought them, and she has to know the mileage each year so she can do the depreciation schedule on them for tax purposes. This is a straight up deal! But I thank you for telling me that because Im a Newbie when it comes to Tractor trucks and I did not know about this what you spoke of. Thats the great thing about this awesome forum, Im learning a ton. Ive only had my CDL for a little over a week! lol. After practicing for the pretrip so much I can crawl all over and under a truck and name every part, air brake test it, and know what Im looking for on suspension, air, electrical, steering components, brakes and all. I hated the pretrip part of the test, But now I thank them for teaching me.

 

Would love to see some pics of the FLDs. Due to age you won't get a whole lot for them but I might be interested in looking through them. I've been on the hunt for an FLD for a personal custom build (not for hire) but have only run across one in the past few months that has somewhat sparked my intrest but still not sure about it yet.

No problem man! Ill get the picks so you can look at them. I wouldnt even mind having one of the trucks with the big flatbed on it for around home. Some had big compressors on back for blowing gunite on pools. These ones were very low miles.

 

So you mean even if your from Houston and you have Texas tags and you just drive across in to California they can nail you when you cross state lines for not having their sticker for emissions for Cali? Its a wonder I made it out Of there in May because I drove all up and down the state of California in my old ford Hauling a truck camper and impeding traffic like a big dog. I thought if you were just passing through you were good to go. I better do some more checking then. Of course thats why Im here is to learn, Thank you Sir.
