i always liked doing that run but the guard was a real jerk no doubt.......but I never depended on him to check me in.....I never went in there early.......I had that one down to the last minute figured out......5am apt, always showed up at the gate at 445, see the girl at the desk at 455 and she stamped the paperwork on time so kinda hard to be marked as late hehehehe
but the place was a REAL dump.....that dirt lot had gotten so bad over the last year it was like driving on the cratered surface of the moon......got stuck there back in february when it rained all night then flash froze and it was like being on a frozen mud lake......finally had one of our guys that was also there 'helped' me get unstuck lol old school way.......still, i'll miss doing that trip I liked that run -
I make consistently above 2500 every week, I normally stay out ten or eleven days and take three or four off. One week wil be around 2700 and the next will be 3 or so. It's a fairly decent mix of same ole runs and new places. And we only have a couple places we go in Michigan but that may change with the Texas star merge.

I don't get that last post? Well, someone explain to me what the deal is with P & G in Browns Summit, please! The second time in a row I pick up a load here and it needs to be reworked!

dinkytruckerdoo, I dont know anything about that. but I have applied to Epes, and waiting response from them the lady I spoke too said she is hiringout of my state and was looking for good driver
can u tell me little about this place ,, how the trucks? what is the pay?? do u like it there? they keep u running? does it seem liek a "family enviroment"? etc.......... if u could let me knwo i would appreicate it...thks.... -
Trucks are as nice as about any companies trucks out there, but governed at 63 mph. Pretty good as far as family feel. Run us fairly well. Pay is based on exp. Up to .37 to start . Top pay is .41. Loads going into the north east has a .10 bonus on them.
Oldest trucks in the fleet are 2010 models. And they are being traded out . I have been here over 9 years , I like it pretty good .dinkytruckerdoo Thanks this. -
sdaniels, thanks for replying to me.......I talk to Melissa in recruiting this morning, she really wants me to come over due to 26yrs exp. but she says and I quote, "I can get u home weekly, maybe not weekends"...whats up with that??? I like weekends iff just as much as the other guy......but maybe if the run runs me by th ehouse on Friday then lay over till Monday????? Two yrs ago they wouldnt even talk to me living in Vermont but she reallys wants me to come work there....so I dont know.....little weiry.,......what else can u tell me.....do u run Florida I use to run there and like alot!!!!??? are the maint. to the trucks good? due u get truck washes every week? how are the insides lay out nice???? sorry for so many questiosn but like the old saying goes" you dont know unless you ask...." I am still thinking it over sounds ok/good but dont know about this "
weekly" thing?? is there anyone there beside the recruiter I can talk to that you recommend????? get back to me here or PM me....thks again -
I can say this.....in MY experience, mine only, here I think the closer you live to a terminal/yard, the better chances you have at getting home on the weekends....that AND whomever your DM is too. They USE to be "Home EVERY weekend", but with all the changes to us, which is A GREAT THING, they even said, in orientation, you won't be guaranteed home on weekends, but every week, YES! That's pretty much the best thing. Wouldn't you rather spend 34-48 AT HOME than in a truck, at a truckstop? We do run FL quite a bit....I saw Flying this morning and he was on his way down to Lakeland...we go there ALOT!
There have been a few times where I get a run and it "just so happens" to go by the house, and I'll take my 10(which ends up being a 12, hehe)...or my 34 and go back out. They will work with you, but you hafta prove you are willing to work with them! Honestly, I think this is such a GREAT PLACE to work....you just hafta prove yourself, no turning down loads, no whining to DM....just do your thing and they'll take care of you! I will say, that if you need to be home for something "important" (ie kid's birthday, anniversary, SEX(no, just joking! haha), death, etc) They will go out of their way to make sure you get home! Once hired, YOU ARE FAMILY HERE! From what I've seen, if you treat them the same way....good things will happen(well, not me....this year JUST FLAT OUT SUCKS! haha I'm sooooooooooooooo ready for 2014!!!!!). Melissa IS the head of recruiting. You can't talk to anyone else that will tell you differently, plus, she's a hottie! hehe Hope this helps, off to sleepy-time for me! Any, really technical questions, I know sdaniels and Flying can answer for you, they've been here longer than me.....March will be my 2 year mark! -
there is a guy in Greensboro that will wash your trucks! But, if you mean a "Blue Beacon" wash once a month, NO, we don't do that, that I know of? Maint. is TOP NOTCH! If I EVER have a problem and report it, when I get to Greensboro, it is addressed as quickly as possible. depending on how busy they are, and done right THE FIRST TIME! Unlike, the time I was stuck up in OH for the first week of this year! haha That was the dealership's fault, bunch of idiots! lmao
