I am looking to do some flatbedding in novemeber. I do not have any experience in flatbedding. I am doing my homework on companies.
I am considering the following:
Lone star
anderson trucking service (ats)
mcelroy
btc
tmc (maybe)
maverick (maybe)
can anyone give me some advice on which one is the best or a good one. Or point me to a good one that is not on my list
Best flatbed companies for someone with no flatbed experience

Melton also just opened up a health care center for its employees and families, providing quality medical care and chronic disease management. Part of the article on it in The Trucker Newspaper says " The clinic will provide primary care without any company's or expense to our employees, and additionally, employees will notice benefits like reduced wait times, extended time with a provider and ability to schedule prompt medical appointments."

I don't know if any of those carriers on your list do training other than Maverick and TMC. If you plan on moving up to more specialized freight and can get the training, you may want to go with Lone Star or ATS. If not, then Maverick or TMC would be a good start where you can learn how to tarp and secure a load. I recall some who have gone with these two companies have reported earning a good living with them.

The quality flatbed companies have load securement training during orientation. It's mostly common sense & nothing to worry about. Those flatbed companies aren't going to turn you loose on the road unless you're ready.
skootertrashr6 and G/MAN Thank this. -
Even those with experience may be required to attend securement training during orientation with a new carrier. They want to make sure you understand how to properly secure a load. A refresher course can not hurt, especially with some of the loads that I have seen going down the highway.
skootertrashr6 Thanks this.
