Well Double, you sure must be doing something right. Certainly better than myself or any other driver that I spoke with at that company, and I spoke with many.
So, to all potential newbies, talk to real drivers in person; don't base an important career decision on information read here on the info highway.
If you do, you just might get taken for a ride.

    Wow! What a great solution!
Yessir! Read the posts from the same four or five, job scared and burned out drivers whom are in total denial as to where they have ended up in their lives. And these same nice people would be very pleased to see you endure the same misery and make the same mistakes as themselves.
Yep, don't listen to any driver that you actually meet in person; they're probably just going to warn you against working for Conway Truckload (or ANY other mega carrier) anyway.
Six hundred bucks a week to work up to a hundred hours a week... what a deal!

I know you advise talking to drivers in person at truckstops, so walk me through the process of finding and talking to, let's say 5, random Conway Truckload drivers. I'm very willing and eager to follow your steps and then I will report back honestly. I have about six truckstops within 45 minutes and I work a standard 9-5/Mon-Fri week. I get off at 5 today, what should I do to find a Conway Truckload driver in person and get an interview?

fatslob no longer exists under that name (banned or retired)...might still be around though under another username. Conway bought out CFI and still uses the trailers with the CFI logo. So, yes conway-cfi = conway truckload.

I no longer with Conway, only because I work for local and hrly wage(tanker) now. But all in all when I was with them. This was during reccession They seem pretty cool people. Yes there will be time when u seat a little with slow frgth. Or at Larado tx where a lot of people will be on the list wait for frght to across from border. But I do average over 2500 miles a week thru out yr. No problem when ask for home time if u have available time off. If I ever going otr. I would not mind going back to them. Bare in mind that 98% of time my load r on time if not very early pick/or delvery. Just show that u can do the job. Also saying the right things can helps. There was a time when one driver refused to take a 5 drops off in New York. So dispatcher call me up to do it. and I was only 150 miles Plus 5 drops and it was Friday and all those drop wont due til Monday. I agree to it and pick it up. After I pick and headed to conx freight in Jersy set up dlvry Monday. I call back dispatch and told them I welcome all load with open arms but this don't make sense have me seat here all weekend to do this drop. So they end up give me a 900 miles run on weekend still have enough time for restarted. Oh one bad thing with the company(was, not sure about now tho) their health plant r sure suck.

respectfully as a driver for 22 years I must disagree with a Drivers comments about Conn-Way. I am currently a Driver for this Company. for the last Five Months I have made only $18000. I have spend more days and weeks in hotel rooms waiting on truck repairs then I have spent at home. I average less then 450 per week take home and less then 2300 miles per week. I have watched new recruits brought through The MO. terminal while 30 plus drives have spent long hours sometimes days waiting for loads. why would you hire people if you can't move your current drivers from the board.. for me I can say as I have before, because they'll need someone to fill my seat! This company has a personnel problem dating back to when they were bought out, if you're one of the Drivers from 6 years ago they'll treat you well.. the only open door policy they have is the one that leads you somewhere else to work!

Last weeks pay. the system will not allow me to show my last 5 months i'm sure because I've already given my notice? = Total
    Single 2157miles x $0.370 = $798.09.. but here is my 5 month average Miles.

    Total Miles Accumulated 49,533
    Last Award Level 0
Date of Last Award Level -
    Next Award Level 120,000
Miles Accumulated Toward Next Award Level 49,533
    Number of Days Out 86
    Number of Days Earned 12

the biggest problem here is your DM. if you get a good one they'll run you, provided the Truck doesn't break down weekly.. and if you get someone who doesn't listen to your concerns, you'll be like me and Moving on to better things. you make your own deals in this life, if they're not suitable then you find somewhere they are! for Me parking lot Baby sitting is not my choice. Conn-way doesn't pay you for baby sitting, yet they seem to have drivers doing a lot of it!

Just curious... have you even tried to go up the management chain or just figured since your DM is a bad apple then that's that?
