Chinatown, I unplugged and removed the over head microphone from my truck just for that purpose. Eventually I'll figure out a way to disable and remove the GPS tracking from my vehicle. Will have to test it after to make sure it doesn't continue to show up.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

That's the issue. Not the 'checking if an unregistered/stolen/etc car is being driven. It's that those records of perfectly legal drivers is being cataloged and saved.

Then I would think that it could be used to record your time at POE's and figure out if your cooking your book too?

Um....what do you think they do with all those camera's on the I-state at the POE and scales? That stuff is recording you everytime you go past a scale. Day or night.

Stopped at the scale south of Madison WI and again in Lewiston ID. They get ALL they need just off those cameras that a logbook really is pointless. Both locations showed me where I had been for the past 7 days. Lewiston actually compared my paper logs to that list. WI didn't because I was on E-logs.

That truly is the reason they want us on ELogs. So that the information is automatically transmitted into the scales as you go buy and you will be checked up on against that information.

One company I worked for had a trailer stolen. The trailer had a tracking device hidden in it. They thought they found it and sent me bobtailing a few hundred miles to pick it up. The tracking device let me to a scrap yard & the trailer was not there; evidently that's where the tracking device was discovered and removed. They never did find that trailer & I didn't argue with anyone at the scrap yard; why put myself at risk over someone else's trailer?
