U.S Xpress lies to student drivers

I have seen good and bad starter companies. USX is in the middle. They are very strict on who they hire but good for teaming and know solos could do better if seeking OTR. Dedicated runs are good for them.

now they said ALL....hmmm? What s training like (pay), I just got invited to orientation.

companies normally do pay fixed amount per day until you start running on your own, however, there has been cases when students challenged companies in court of law and if i'm not mistaken got justice. companies sometimes pay daily less then minimum wages in state, therefore students were able to make that part paid right. on the other hand, it's a couple of months with free rent and utilities when you grind the #### out of employer's truck's gears, rape their brakes and utilize their trained professional driver for your beginner mode exercises. if you trainer happens to be an owner op, trust me, he cries bitter tears over his hurting equipment while in the shower. in all honesty, those cents and miles students bring to the table are not remotely worth damage they cause to the equipment..and i don't get how trainers don't get it. not to mention, that student and trainer running as teams - meaning that trainer actually sleeps sometimes while his protege drives- oh, those folks are either quite brave or quite mad. think about it?! sleeping while a total stranger screened by company who doesn't give a **** is steering your property to..anywhere he wants.
brave, mad, desperate, parental individuals those trainers are *taking the hat off*

Yep! recruters will do that no matter how sweet they sound (if it's a woman) or convenceing they will sell the company to you! as long as they get you on the company after your on you find out all the lies, I hate dispatchers and dispatch managers often they play with your hometime no matter how long you've been out! but I've learned to go with it. if you decide to leave the company?
I will say this never ever abandon a truck,or destroy company property,this will affect you personally,find the nearest terminal or freightliner dealership or shop. and if your to far from a terminal wait until your near to one and have plenty of fuel to get there also have bus fare for the trip home or have another company lined up. just my 2 cents most trucking companys are all the same very few differ from the rest.

jokes aside, students do serious damage to equipment. if you disagree, give them your truck to abuse

 

The OP states they did their due diligence yet they signed on with USX? How many drivers warned you not to sign on with this company as a solo and you did it anyway? And then come here complaining about a issue that is right in black and white on their website? A training company that pays .29 a mile during training. lol Sure recruiters lie. But all you had to do is come here and ask what does USX pay a student driver during training? and you would of had the answer long before day 1 let alone day 3 of orientation.
And 317 days a year on the road For USX, is a good thing?
