People who pay for coffee are not particularly smart in my book either.
Everybody is a dummy " flying by you" while you drive 15 mph below speed limit ?!
Your 'hybrid car drivers who act like it is a race car' lacks logic and last but not the least...
don't judge other people's business models that work because you do not know what you are talking about

What kind of logic is that? Fueling takes 5 minutes, maybe 10. When I do my 400 mile round trip at 75 mph on the turnpike, I'm usually going 10-15 mph faster than governed trucks. That means it takes me over an hour LESS to do the whole thing compared to a guy with a 62 mph truck. That also means I can bring back my freight sooner and clock in to get my hourly dock rate sooner, thus more money in my pocket. Also, a lot of the freight I handle is time sensitive, it needs to be in its outbound trailer ASAP. This is so my company can charge the expedited/overnight rate. They also benefit from this. 1-1.5 mpg less doesn't mean anything sometimes.

Time is everything, not everybody has time to sit at the "driver's lounge" at the Petro and tell B.S. stories to other lardfaces.

Lets say you put in those years and make 60 cpm for a carrier who is governed at 60 mph.
On an open wide highway which at these speeds it usually is you make 36 $ an hour driving.

A newbie with one year of experience with a truck governed at 75 which if you get hang of it isnt such a crazy fast speed makes about the same per hour getting only 45 cpm.

Yes, more fuel is spent but who cares? The boss, driver, shop , fuel stop, cops, everybody is happy.
And don't start about safety here plz. The number of close calls I had with merging traffic in the granny lane puffing at 60 will last me for a lifetime

And I know you dont care what kind of 'dog eat dog ' atmosphere is right behind your bumper in 80 mph traffic is created when 63 passes 60. You are happy you save all that fuel for your Co

I did not read all 56 pages lol but.....

If i could get .50/mile in a truck governed to 62 or .43/mile in a truck with no governor, i'd still make more with the slower truck. Companies want you slower to reduce accident risk and improve fuel economy. Many OO dont go 70mph just because they can.

The only remote reason they can give for driving slow is a slower truck needs less stopping distance . Slow trucks almost never have that needed interval due to passing vehicles always cutting in front of it .

    Exactly!
Glad my truck was ordered with big tanks. I can go 1200+ miles before thinking of having to fuel.

Because I am paid hourly plus overtime. I would not take a job by the mile or by the barrel. I'm a driver, not a shock absorber to cushion the company against delays and bad weather... or tractors governed for 60 when the limit is 75. Not my problem.

I know the reason why..!! It's not because of those drivers doing 60 mph, enjoying the ride and enjoying their job... ;-)
