I'm graduating from my CDL school in 4 weeks, and that's when I've been told to apply by most recruiters I've spoken with. This isn't another "Who's the best" thread. I've done my research, and I know who'd I'd like to work for, though I haven't picked "my favorite" yet. I'll do that after I get some feedback on my applications.
Anywho, I'm making this thread as a courtesy, lol. I've already filled out US Xpress and Crete/Shaffer, workin on a local one atm, when the thought struck me that many of these companies have referral bonuses. If you reply here with a company that you work for that offers a referral bonus, I'll list you if I was going to apply for them. I plan on applying to Roehl, Schneider, Prime, TMC, Melton, Stevens and H.O. Wolding. If you work for those, or have a suggestion for a company I didn't list, please just leave a reply here, or message me what company you work for and your information I'll need for the bonus.

Once again, please don't go on about how much you hate the companies I've listed. I'm applying to quite a few to have my bases covered, and I already have a good idea of which ones I'd rather go with. Just thought I'd let a few guys have a shot at a bonus.

Well I hate to sound like a nay sayer but you going in new and a driver who is already there and he refers you, what happens to this driver who referred you when you run over the bus load? I'm not saying this is going to happen, nor do I work for any of these starter companies, I just want to hear others opinions as to what their ideas may be on this. I refer drivers to companies I work for on a limited basis, but if this isn't an issue I will have cards printed and hand them out at every stop.

Nothing. Nothing at all... Referring driver just doesn't get any or all of his referral bonus.

I'm not trying to start any kind of discussion, just wanted to offer someone a few hundred bucks if I went into the right company.

No referral bonus for me. Good choices you listed, especially Melton & TMC. Take a look at System Transport on the trans-system website. Schneider Bulk is a good one. You've done it the smart way by research early in the game. I've read you posts in the past & you ask good questions.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I appreciate it. I keep meaning to look into Systems and then never do, thanks for the reminder. I've been on the fence about Schneider. I don't know much about bulk, but I imagine the pay is good, right? Is that their tanker division, because I've heard good things about that, and getting into tanking early would probably make it easier to get the higher paying jobs faster. Tanker jobs are some of the best paying, right?

Don't hear them mentioned here too much. Sometimes that's a good thing, lol. never heard of a 5K student sign on bonus, but I'll take a look.

Don't wait to contact a company after you graduate. You want to have decided before you graduate so you can have orientation lined up within a week or less.

I believe every recruiter has told me to call a day or two after submitting an application, so I plan to do that. It'd be nice to get a "yes" from one of my "choice" companies so I don't have to bother applying with the bottom of the barrel guys. I heard those guys can get pretty annoying after they get your phone number, lol.

BTW, I hate filling out apps. 3 down now, got DOT foods done tonight. Still have to finish Emerson...
