I find it interesting the amount of confusion that comes every time the topic of Hours of Service is mentioned. Especially among drivers. Rules are written out to be done only one way but driver's interpretation is all over the place. Happens every time something is changed on the HOS rules. What is wrong with us drivers? I took a week off then came back to work for two days and then took another restart. I was hung up not being able to pick up my next load. Had to be down over that weekend. When I told my buddy I was doing another restart he starts telling me all kinds of crap about how I can't do it because I only worked three days. I told him to re-read the new rules. Goes 168 hours since START of last reset which was the day I started my week off of hometime. I got him going real good when I said I could've taken my next restart at the end of the day I came back to work if I would've wanted or needed to do it. Many drivers also do NOT understand the 30 minute break rule. I'm starting to believe that this topic needs to be treated like Politics and Religion. You do your thing and I'll do mine and we'll just not talk about it. HeHe! Thanks for reading! Take care out there!

Made it back to GP last night. Ran almost 4100 miles in 7.5 days. Time for some R&R. Instead of sleeping in the truck and waiting to check in to the hotel later today, I started my weekend early by checking in last night.
I had to turn the truck in for it's 100k mile PM. So I figured of the shop wanted to start on it early this morning they could; without disturbing my beauty rest.
I will go back to the yard layer today just to check in with compliance to make sure they don't have any business for me to attend to. So of anyone is going to be on the yard around noon; I'll see you there. -
Feel like a super trucker
Helped two newbies get backed into tough spots and then solved their problems with a bad wiring harness and leaking fuel. Decided to take a shot at getting my own problem with my fuel system solved at a Volvo shop in Amarillo instead of switching over to a loaner truck and letting our shop fix the problem. Managed to get the problem fixed and will still be able to make my morning delivery tomorrow in Dallas before heading back to the yard for a load going home. Been out since the second week of July and feeling pretty burned out. Running hard and making $$$ but time for some days off to recharge the batteries.

The PM on the truck was indeed completed this morning. Checked with Compliance and was notified that my DOT physical was due within the next 45 days, so I went and took care of that this afternoon. My next outbound leaves for Miami Monday.
In the mean time, it's a ride along at the Texas Motor Speedway tomorrow afternoon and possibly a Rangers game tomorrow night.
Did I mention I love my job?Dark_Majesty_06 Thanks this. -
The way I try to work is hustle week (3000+ miles) to a medium week (2500 +) and then reset myself with a short week so I can leave back out on the weekend.. I'm in my short week hoping to snag a laredo. The last 7 times I fell asleep and missed blockbuster.
