Need a used truck, what should I be looking at!

    That ISM is an 11L, I dont think it should have any trouble pulling 55K like its empty. We have used them in tri axle dumps @ 72K and had no problem. You might need to get it looked at to find out why it doesnt have more power than you can use.

    Well remember its set at the lowest HP setting they offer. But I do plan on doing an overhead and having the injectors checked by a reputable shop.

    Almost. I'm looking at just about the same truck. I found a 2001 FL112 with M11/ISM with what's supposed to be an actual odometer reading of 137,533 miles. It's the 280hp version. I would assume it could be reprogrammed for more hp if need be. I'm not so sure I need any more power though. I'd be pulling a 32ft, 30,000lb gooseneck livestock trailer. No Mtns around here to worry about, just a couple big hills is about it. I like your 9-10mpg numbers. I usually only get a little over 10mog with my 07 Dodge 3500. A Little more lately 'cause he thinks I'm trying to replace him...smart truck.
