Grandma Debi,
I just read through this thread and it has been interesting. I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your trucking adventure. It goes to show that people with a positive attitude and a good work ethic can make this profession a success.
I wish you the best of luck in your career, and will look forward to hearing more of your reports.
Best of luck to you!

Update from Grandma Debi! Good bye-Harold... It was real and it was fun but it was not real fun... Praise God I am back in Salt Lake been here since late Thursday night. Have heard from or seen most of my classmates. Everyone that went out on a truck with a trainer is successful!!!
Yeah for our classmates!!! Only one of us rates the on the truck with a trainer as excellent most of us would not recommend our trainers to train others. I have been taking more tests. Lots of safety stuff. Can't say enough good things about the supportive attitude of the instructors here at the Salt Lake school. They have been GREAT!
One more class 1/2 day tomorrow and then CAT for three weeks. no pay while back in class
WOW! I'll get 11 cents a mile when I go back out on the truck for CAT with the lease driver. Hopefully I will get home (have not been there since New Years eve) as for the other grandma Debe the one who stayed home with the grandkids??? She is still home with the grandkids
and
Grandma Debi is in LOVE with driving big trucks and with Virgil her favorite classmate... They have connected in several ways since their reunion in Salt Lake... and They plan to be team mates once CAT is over. So much for getting your moneys worth.
Speaking of money last check = $382
Another favorite Truck stop!!!! Think the place was called Bosselman in Big Springs Wyoming.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOO
HAPPY valentines day!!!
Keep smiling and keep truckin wave if you see me!!!
Blessings!

Great to hear from you concerning CR England. I have been in contact with a recruiter named Shenola in SLC. She wants me to come work for you. Keep me updated as it will affect my decision. thanx again....

All I got to say is you have a very positive outlook.
There is no way in the world
I would turn a key to a truck with this company. Even if I needed training and no one else would hire me. This is slave labor and ought to be outlawed!

We had laborers working in Iraq that were making more than some of the amounts she is quoting. And we were always griping at KBR about screwing the locals.
Oh well, different strokes.

Hmm... could be worse... lot's worse. One of her weekly checks equals one of my TWO WEEK checks from Wally World--granted I'm part time 'cause Wally don't want to pay benefits. At the rate I'm going, even a CRE trainee check looks good right now, LOL.
llilillill <--can't wait to step back in a truck.

Perhaps some of you veteran truck drivers have forgotten how lousy some nontrucking jobs pay. My son was working at Staples, was the PC Tech and in charge of Electronics Dept. making a whopping $8 an hour, considered full time which only meant that they were required to schedule him at least 32 hours a week. Try living on that!

Hello! Hope you are all having a beautiful and wonderful day

UPDATE! Grandma Debi has finished her first week on the CAT plan. This means helping the lease driver (a man named Peter) make his lease payments.
Nice man with nice clean truck running PA to CA with trips in between.
I am learning the importance of accepting what is given to you is a very good way to avoid down time sitting and waiting. I am 1/3 complete on the CAT phase.
IT does not look like I will see home (Colorado) and my family and friends until after I finish CAT (2 more weeks # 11 cents a mile)
Then Virgil and I will take a short break in Colorado before going out as a team! I have to change the lic to colorado. Does anyone know how difficult that process actually is?
Blessings! Have a good week and keep smiling
