Thanks. ..

What truck is gonna be the next one?
-
This is something that can be worried about later, got a few weeks at least for the cast , I'm sure. Let him heal .

Oram, I have to ask if you regret getting the 680 and not getting the Volvo 780? If anyone else bought the 680 and have regrets now, maybe you could answer as well.
-
No. Still I think the T680 is a better truck and better quality. The Volvo still has the issues what caused me to switch. Also I have had the chance to compare few months old Cascadias, and I see the small details, why the Kenworth should last longer, as it designed. They are the only truck maker, who still make some effort to build truck what is not suppose to be garbage after five years. I think it is a great truck, but still quite upsetting the problems and quality issues, also the way how Kenworth leave you on your own, after you left the dealership. I think it would not cost too much to stand up for their product. The dealerships are not representing Kenworth. They are independent services, what bill Kenworth or you. And it shows.Nexwinner Thanks this.

Yes the KW dealer support is not what it once was and hopefully KW realizes this and fixes it

Start sending in letters/emails direct to kenworth about the quality of service at the dealerships. What should be written into all of the franchise contracts is a customer service clause and if Kenworth is not happy they can revoke the dealership or force it to be sold to someone else. The dealership will never let corporate know something is wrong so you have to go above their heads.
Just happened in with the Volvo dealership in Alberta, two are now operated by Volvo, and over the next few months will be making changes to staff, parts supplies etc. -
Just my $0.02.
I will never buy volvo again just because build and parts quality remain VERY low. I cant get rid of air leak - in two hours my truck is staying "on the knees" with zero psi in susp (!?). There are absolutely no improvement in aerodynamics, rust control, serviceability, fixability, etc. etc. They still get that ugly cheap upholstery. They still get bending poor quality floor. They still got NO xenon (UHD) light, while blasting air with permanent passages about "safety" and same BS. In one word, if you want problems - buy volvo. -
Its useless to disturb them with such a request. Let me explain. For example, 38% of revenue car manufacturers acquire by selling parts and services, mostly parts. I think, truck manufacturers (and reefer unit) are not far away. Why could turbo cost $3600? Is it SUCH complicated to manufacture part? Why ThermoKing unit doors cost $500 each? Its just a peace of low quality plastic. Why could ThermoKing unit signal light (green "T" light) cost $300. Its just rediculous. Same happens in Cummins dealerships, etc. I spent 6 hours (!?) and $500 to change Oil Pressure Sensor ($32) on Cummins dealership. That means manufacturers ARE interested to squeeze every additional penny out of you. And you can do nothing with it. :/
