I can't seem to find this info anywhere, so if anyone knows about it, or has some knowledge on where I can find out about it accurately, I 'd appreciate it.
I'm a small fleet owner with 5 or less trucks (2) with reefers, I was wondering, are the mandates going to be for only larger fleets with 5 or more trucks? Or will it be for everyone?
I want to expand as I have new accounts coming in but I do not want to invest into more overhead costs if I'm already going to have to fork up extra expenses for the 2 I already have. At $2000 per EOBR and $35-40 services, there just has to be other changes coming in the industry, like BETTER LOAD RATES. $2, $3 or even $4/mile on avg. is s not enough to cover these costs for smaller companies. If that is the case, WE(ALL OF US) need to START and SIGN a petition to REVERSE this decision they're about to make, even if it takes me calling old Ray LaHood myself, then petitioning Obama to take a good hard look at this. I'd say we could strike but I know and YOU know MOST of these drivers out here will only run their mouths and WILL NOT participate. The power is in the people but it seems truck drivers DO NOT know that or refuse to band together on these issues, I mean WE run this country, freight has to be loaded on a truck at some point to reach its final destination anywhere, even if it is a box truck. the unions do it, so why can't independent truck owners do it too? it's time for a revolution, and the time is NOW. there will never be a change if WE don't make a change. the petitions need 100,000 signatures to get looked at by the president and because I'm involved in some other political associations, I feel I'd have a pretty good chance at contacting the White House on this issue if it were to go down. #JustMyInput #TRUTH
First, answer my question, if you can.....THEN give me your thoughts on this issue. #THANKS
Anyone know about the eobr mandates coming?

Hey DonTrucker...I guess everyone that shows interest in what you are saying could leave you a p.m. Request, and maybe we might just start a progressive movement ...COUNT.ME IN!!!

Watch that two hour video on youtube where everyone asks Anne Ferro about why they pushed the new hos through even before the studies were complete. It does not make a #### difference what we say or think. The only way it might happen is if you actually got enough drivers to park.
cetanediesel and landstar8891 Thank this. -
Ok ..leave your card at the door please...

Thanks but I went through them....none of them answered my question...btw there's like 493,344 (not real) posts on EOBR'S........notice that? LOL
I think I'll just call FMCSA -
The short answer is nobody knows yet how this is going to work out. The proposed rule MAY be released this fall for comment, but there isn't any advanced indication of what will be in it. At worst you've got a number of years yet before you will be required to install anything.
As for getting it "reversed," the time for that expired last year when Congress passed MAP21. We're stuck with it now.Imelda and Ranger Bob Thank this. -
A letter to Ray the Hood won't work since he is now retired.

the law has been passed, it's not going to be reversed, every other country in the civilized world has had them for years. the only choice we have is to get out of the industry, or learn to adapt to the new way of things.
be prepared for the possibility that they time this with finally going through with the Mexican truck program so there is no truck shortage if a lot of the independents decide it's time to quit.
