sorry didnt mean to revive it but im new here. the world should know about werner. CNN needs to do a special on these guys. my brother works for swift and still made 3 times more money in a week than when i worked for werner.

No matter who you drive for, or what youre pulling. if your dispatcher sucks you're S.O.L. That or maybe you just weren't cut out to drive a truck. Werner and Swift have almost identical pay scales and account types. Just like every other big company. If you want a big pay check: put in your time, find the company you want, and get the wheels rolling

no, it wasnt my fleet manager i went through 3 trying to fix the problem. no, it wasnt me, i made myself available. i have a more detailed report on my exp with them posted under the werner dac section if you want to read it. i wasnt saying that swift was a good company either. my brother hates it. i was just saying he got way more miles than me. and swift pays a few cents more per mile too.

Thanks Norther - I start with Werner on Monday and your input has been invaluable to me as a 'senior' graduate, I will certainly take your comments on board in the hope that the surplus of trucks applies to Indianapolis where I'm on for orientation -:biggrin_25525: Thanks again

well, when you are looking at you checks and wondering is it worth being gone all this time, remember that its not! just quit and get a different job before they make you homeless. someone else/ anyone else WILL pay you better. but good luck.

Cool your heel's there superman. No need getting worked up just because somebody put the company you drive for down. Once more, welcome to the trucking industry. People putting down driver's and companies has been going on for a long time now and Werner isn't the only company that get's put down so stop reffering as if your the only one and Werner being the only one. Ge used to it because it's never going to stop. People are going to say thing's to piss you off. "In one ear and out the other." It doesn't matter wheather you've been driving a month or 40 year's, wreck's are going to happen and they can happen to anybody including the best of the best.

Not putting the company down, I looked away from Werner because of two thing's but it doesn't make them a bad company. I haven't seen them running Frieghtliner's or Kenworth's lately but I don't care for the newer Pete's for many reason's. Two and most important is the electronic log's. That was an automatic turn off. So there I'm not putting the company or driver's down I'm just expressing my opinion's about the company as to why I wouldn't drive for them, but if you can't handle the pressure's of other's when it comes to the industry with coming here and stirring thing's up with other's because your mad, then maybe you should just find another profession.

As far as the CB, it can be a very useful tool when out there on the road weather it be accident's, weather, cop's etc. It's a part of trucking and has been for many year's so why have one if your going to b**** about how you don't like it and what other garbage other people talk on it. Nobody held a gun to your head and told you to buy the #### thing so nothing can be said from there. You either walk, talk, eat, breath , s*** and drive like a trucker or you don't and if you don't then your no real truck driver because it's either something you have or don't. You have to live and breath it everyday. That's the life. Take it or leave it. There are operator's and then there are driver's and the way you make yourself sound, you sound like an operator in the driver's seat. Also having to do with weather you have the touch or not because it's either something you have or you don't. All in all, keep your cool and to hell with what other people say about companies, get used to it because it'll never stop.

A bit off topic but just my $.02

Just to comment on this. Modern Marvels on the History Channel did a segment on Truck Stops and the main commentator was a Werner driver in the bluest wernermobile i've ever seen.

I worked for Werner....my truck was wayyy over due to be turned in for a new one. They wouldnt fix anything on my truck....never got issued toll passes cuz they were "out of them", my prepass was broke.Everything on my truck was literally falling off(im not joking) I had to out my own screws in stuff to keep it on, lol. Basically they got alot of dirt lots to do swaps/drops so you dont go into terminals so your truck dont get red tagged. I wasnt amking any money and I was catching my dispatchers in lie after lie.....it was just best that I left. I honestly have nothing good to say about them. I definetly wasn't making any money...and all I did was run, run, run...every available hour..........lol........when I was with my trainer we had a flat tire for 12days....oh the memories

oh but forgot to say if you like them Im glad for ya...gotta make some money somewhere
