I have been at Social Circle for hours as have a few more Cretans. One is a trainer and he says Crete actually has a few trainers training out of Midroofs. He has no idea how. Isn't Crete avidly promoting their wonderful rider program? Unless people are pencil thin it's not gonna work.

I'll tell ya what - going to Mom & Pop Shops will really give you an eye-opener as to just how much the big-name truck stops are blatantly ripping us off on everything except fuel, I guess.
$1.89 for the 1-liter brisk iced tea, anywhere else that's .99-1.19. Same with the 1-liter Arizona bottles. Energy shots, 3.99, anywhere else they're 2.59-2.99.
Everything else you can buy at a big-name truck stop has a similarly jacked up price. Of course they get away with it due to the mega-carriers' loyalty on the fuel.mgt1085 Thanks this. -

I have a 2012 Prostar double bunk with less than 250K. It had mechanical problems for a while, but has been running sweet the last few months. I'll be gone from Crete in 3-4 weeks if that is soon enough. I'll message you a few days before I turn it in (hopefully at Marietta, but not sure what my nemesis will do when I give her 2 weeks notice).

First off, SSB and Ralph.....I wish you the very best of luck in your new endeavors. I know y'all will keep us posted!
An update on myself....well, I have to say that, at least lately, I have not been plagued with the issues that Crete has become somewhat infamous for. I've been averaging right at 3000 miles per week with very, very little hassle or real problematic load issues. Got to Lincoln middle of last week for a B service, and they not only did that, but replaced the brakes on my steer axle and one drive axle and also replaced the side skirt I mucked up back in April. I was down about a day and a half, so not bad. I attended a safety meeting and got a couple of points. Would have attended the DDC as well, but for a time it was looking like my truck might be done by lunch, so I held off.
Got kind of a screwy delivery right now....0100 in Bluefield, VA at a Sam's club. Really kinda flips my schedule upside-down, as I've been starting my days by 0300 lately. My AM continues to be right on the ball, and I'm really....really....hoping I'll be on her board for the time being.
Other than that, not much else to report. I'm in the middle of 48 days out so I can attend a family function in mid-September (no vacation time until Feb). Wife and I are also going to have a real heart-to-heart as to how much longer we can both tolerate me being OTR.
Stay safe everyone!Ralph4159 Thanks this. -
Dropped my sold 2010 double bunk prostar at Deland late last night. I guess at the end of my hometime I'll find out my fate. Gonna have spend the next few days looking for another carrier just in case

Doozy of a load. I've been in Duncannon since noon Sunday hoping for an earlier delivery (appointment 0100 8/27). Finally reached receiving this morning and they said they're too booked up. I'll have been sitting 36 hours when all is said and done, yet no 34 reset because of the new rules (ie 2X 0100-0500).
There are 2 more stops, 0700 only 110 miles away, then 1100 at another 130 miles in NJ. I just hope the last stop is quick because I have a bad feeling my 14 is going to run out with no place to park.
