Hi, I'm a wannabe trucker. My wife and I have been considering doing this for about the last twenty years. My kids are adults and out of school now, timing seems to be good. I'm looking for a good training company to work for. I currently have what many would consider a good/great job. I have been doing quite a bit of reading on this forum and I think that Prime Inc. looks interesting. Does anybody have any suggestions? I have a CDL-A but no real experience, my sweetheart had a CDL for driving bus but gave it up a few years ago. She wasn't driving any more. I would like to find a decent company that would give us training at the same time. I would also love to hear about other couples experiences. Thanks, Sparky.

Here's a couple of companies that will train you together. Check the websites. CRST will pay for CDL school in exchange for an 8 month commitment; seems like a deal to me. Central has their own CDL school.

Thanks Chinatown, I have read your comments on several threads and have found that you are definitely one of the more helpful ones. Just to let you know that is greatly appreciated. It seems difficult to sort out facts from stories on these threads and anywhere else on the internet. Any help is appreciated. Sparky.
