If you sat down and figured out the math of expenses vs income, you'd come to the conclusion that until you break 3300 or so miles, you are making less per mile NET than the company driver. BUT you are looking at this wrong. You have just bought A NEW TRUCK with no money down, with a 5 year loan and a balloon payment at the end. You have to come to terms with the fact that you will make around 30-35k a year because you are ALSO making truck payments. No company is going to take the losing end of the stick on the side of sympathy. The math of TransAm is sound, and probably one of the best LP programs in the trucking industry without an experience requirement. The truth of the matter is you were looking for a good deal on a payday loan, and this wasn't it.
I was a company driver for 10 months, and had to teach the math of business to 3 lease drivers that were in my orientation that I kept in contact with out on the road. None of them are still around at TransAm.
Morale of the story, If you start a business without enough capital to do so, you probably won't come out winning.Lonesome and DragonTamerBrat Thank this. -
well again I am going to ask if you got plenty of miles how did you not get a positive check
I don't defend transam or their lease program have said even with my 35 years of business ownership
and previous driving experience I wouldn't do it again
but you never explain how plenty of miles equals negative checks
so your claims are without foundation -
i agree with Patty, and we all know that there are two sides to every story. ..

On a lighter note, we work for USX. We deliver to several places near TransAms headquarters in Olathe, KS. Each time, USX has us drive on 159th street. Wife & I are convinced that they do this to piss off TransAm. LOL

I'm wondering if some of the 'lease drivers' are still recruiting at $100 a "speech" who THEMSELVES plan on leaving..This of course is very
to me. Lesson in Trucking. Don't believe #### you hear..Even HERE. Research..Research..And research some more!!

one thing I am sure of is with 35- 50 newbies starting per week
and the fleet hasn't grown in the 18 months I been here
so 35-50 quit per week is transam doesn't care
there business model appears to work for them -
truth hurts don't it?I am now beginning to see why you FAILED at transam.

Sorry we do not do lease purchase, 90% of them fail and we dont like those odds, sorry just have company spots open, you can always buy your own truck and lease it on anytime also. This is what another company emailed me today. I sent them a email asking if they had a lease option! This company I emailed sounds like they care about there drivers

wants YOU to pay off your truck. This year we will deliver more than 15 titles to successful lease purchase operators. I copied that from another site.. I bet trans scam never delivered 15 titles!!
