People are not always as they appear. Some of my dearest friends look like they're worse off than garbage pickers, but would share their last crumb with someone who was going without.
On they other hand, looks like both sides of this particular issue are guilty of making assumptions

 

And your question is what?? If you want to rant there's a section for that.

And the answer is "I don't know but maybe it was something you just ate."

 

Did you forget to shower this morning or something?

 

Well, i was just up in Maine, vermont, NH, etc and had to deal with the problem of no real good place to get a shower. Miles to drive, deadlines to meet and no pilot, ta, or loves to stop at. I finally got to Ohio and delivered my Maine load and then got sent on a short run and then to a drop yard...lol finally TOLD my FM that i was BTing 13 miles to a pilot of a SHOWER!!! lol, he had no problem with that.

I will agree with you though, it is our responsibility to do the best we can to take care of ourselves out there. The one thing about hauling dry van is that you really can avoid getting dirty and or sweaty generally, its time that is the killer for us.

 

Most of those Mom and Pop Truck stops up that way have showers too. May cost a few bucks but if it is that or stinking up the cab, I am spending the few bucks.

 

I personally believe the nasty horrible smelling truckers would be the same way regardless of their profession. There are just some people in this world that don't care about hygiene.
